I took some French classes a while back
Eurocentric.
It sounds nice! And it's the language of the romantics 🙂
Cause its the most universal language, with influences from Spain, Italy, Germany, England, and Holland. Its the best language, it has a bit of all of them.
It pretty much shares a border with all these countries.
I didn't take French in high school and didn't want to. I took Japanese up until level 3 in my junior year. I couldn't take AP Japanese in my senior year because I was going through a tough time mentally and emotionally and knew I wasn't in any condition for higher learning.

I thought Latin was the base of most languages, especially the romantic ones. Doesn't that make Latin the most universal and not French?

I never said It was the base language.
No, latin is not the most universal because it has no traces of nordic languages in it...for example. Its the opposite of universal.
^^Exactly. I want to learn Spanish, for the same reasons. My ex-gf took up French, just for the heck of it.
