How did some of you come up with the identification profiles you use to post with? This could be an interesting topic. Mine is (Twinflame2). It comes from the idea that we all can have more than one soul mate in our life. But finding your twinflame is very rare indeed. There seem to be relationships that stay strong the entire life time the couple are together. This has been noted to be finding your twinflame here on earth. We all strive for that I believe, to find someone we can be with like that.

Morganofmind is my AIM screen name, without the numbers at the end. And I do not recall why I chose it... I think it had to do with a character in a book I was reading at the time.

But you know she's got such a bad wrap as an evil sorcerous and all.

I was really thinking of Morgan from original Celtic mythology which was the queen of what were basically the 9 Celtic muses.

Well, admittedly LeFay was both a fairy and a sorceress, but what were the ladies to do when the knights stole the scene?
And of course their reward was bad publicity!

Tell us about the Celtic Morgan, as a muse she must have been interesting - most of us know too little about the Celts

First, thank you for sharing and answering my post. Now James Tate, I personally think your name is very stately. It's perfect for a writter without changing anything. And besides it's real, not like mine twinflame2. It sounded like a good choice at the time, and now I have used it so long I am stuck with it. Parallax I love it! What a great choice, I am so glad you posted. Now seeing it is more personal to me, kind of like I know you better (thanks). And Morgan, Turtle is right boring you are not. I follow the Libra and Cancer board, as well as the Misc and Writers board. So that I can get to know everyone better. And that in time we may be able to be friends. Oh yes Hello Turtle! Happy to meet you, say I dont think you told us how your's came to be. Oh and Morgan two tumbs up on your choice, Its so creative. I have a fondness for such things as queens and muses. Maybe sometime I will share the poem I wrote on the writers board, about such things as fantasy. It's quite different, but I just had to try my hand at something differnet. Anyway here I go rambling on and on as I do. Thanks again everyone for sharing. But alas for now I must say goodnight to all. Goodnight James Tate, goodnight Morganofmind, goodnight Parallax, and we must not forget Turtle-Goodnight to all. TW2

I chose my screen name because I am fascinated by the legend behind the rising phoenix; I like that it symbolises "rising above" (the problems and negativity of life) and re-inventing/renewing itself. Things I aspire to be able to do. Here's an explanation from painnet.com.

Legend of the Phoenix

The phoenix is a mythical bird of great beauty from ancient Greek, Egyptian and Arabian mythology. It is a symbol of immortality, resurrection and life after death. The phoenix's flight has been said to represent the capacity to leave the world and its problems behind, flying towards the sun in clear pure skies. For thousands of years depictions of the phoenix were seen in Egyptian, Greek, Hindu and Chinese art and writings. Later the phoenix appeared in medieval Christian writings as a symbol of death and resurrection.

Supposedly the phoenix lived in Arabia; however, it was considered sacred to or a servant of Ra, the sun god of ancient Egypt. The phoenix is described as a heron in Egypt; it is usually depicted as a peachicken or eagle-like bird with red and gold plumage. Only one phoenix could exist at a time and approximately every 500-600 years when it felt its end was near, the phoenix would build a nest to be used as a funeral pyre. The old phoenix was consumed in flames and burned to ashes. A new phoenix would arise from the funeral pyre. This process is said to symbolize the rising and setting of the sun. After embalming the ashes of its predecessor in an egg of myrrh it would then fly with it to the City of the Sun and place it on the altar of the sun god.

According to Greek legend, the Phoenix is a lone beautiful bird, the only one of its kind. It is said to live for nearly five hundred years when it begins to build a nest of dry sticks and twigs while at the same time singing a melodious dirge. When completed it flaps its wings furiously setting the nest on fire. Resting on top of the burning pile it slowly consumes itself into ashes. It then rises from the ashes a new bird equally alone and unique to live for another five hundred years. The bird not only represents immortality but also an individual who stands apart from the rest, a person of rare qualities.
