Fresh ideas for next year?
I don't care for popularity threads, that's why I didn't vote/didn't even read through the thread. DXP Awards & "Who is your favourite dxper?" don't appeal to me. I'm not a hater though, so good luck to all the nominees 🙂

I think that the thread needs to have an expiration time STAT... All of the arguing is really becoming redundant and annoying.
Also, don't bicker about who someone voted for, it's their personal choice. Like it/hate it and move on.
But in response to the topic, I think the DXP awards needs to be done with. The thread is completely lacking in actual answers to the OP. The voting will only be based on a small percentage of votes and my guess is, next year will be less than this year. Time let the horse die, stop beating it and fixing it up again.
True, people changing their votes and fighting... Not inspiring others to vote really.
I'm not really a big fan but they made it sound like some big ole tradition so I Figured what the hell. I mainly tried to vote for the people who voted for me lol!

I think over all, keeping the categories for awards less detailed and more broad, would make not being voted for or winning less of a sting to the posters who actually care... Or get butt hurt about it.

hosts of the dxp awards - should be neutral users - less polarizing, not encourage and/or participate in drama that starts in the thread, and unblock anybody they have blocked until the voting period is over.
you can't really rely on other posters to quote you for the host to read your vote (if at all) if you??re on their block list ...
- other than that - a fixed time period. starts at - ends at.
- clear rules/instructions
- one vote only. (not changing the vote 6 pages after your initial vote)you can't do this during elections either.....
maybe it would be more organized if two hosts were operating. one receiving the PM votes the other dealing with the entries on the open forum.

there are people that don't like me or the fact that people have argued with me in the thread. they're forgetting that there's been just as much drama and bitching all of the awards threads and all of the games threads like survivor. none of the threads that are supposed to be fun stay that way the whole time. there's always someone that is miserable and wants no one else to have fun and decides to troll.

nights did not encourage or allow the drama to unfold like in the current one. if somebody started some shit - he told them to knock it off. and nights was not the person who had a personal vendetta with other users - i am sure many people who don't like or whom scorched does not like have not voted.
nights was overall a very well respected and liked member and people voted gladly. it was a fun matter. rather than a bashing contest.

Clearly, the contest has some historical value, but it seems that it's been reduced to a popularity contest for a clique-- not for all DXP members.

Scorched stepped up and did the awards this year. There's no need for her to be fair or impartial or anything in-between. None of her opinions, views, comments, feelings, etc., prevents anyone from voting as they see fit.
The point is, is that it happens every year, people enjoy it - or rather, find enough value in it to participate, and it takes work to do all the tallying. It makes no difference what you think of Scorched, because at the end of the day, *she* (and whoever has decided to help her) will do the tallying, and you all get to sit on your asses and wait for the dramatic results. And the full climax - the drama of the results - is what I'm quite sure motivated more than a few of you.
So best suck it up and put your moaning aside and be a little thankful that *someone* is there to do all the back-end work, since you cared enough to vote.
