You can't really pre-empt when you *know* well enough that it's highly unlikely that someone was going to host it in the first place. Everyone loves the drama and the results, but not the work.
Those who voted really have no complaint against the host or the process. They took the opportunity to add names to categories like anyone else.
From what I understand many are blocked, how are they suppose to vote? I can't wait to hear your genius answer.
She has help doing the tallies. Whoever is blocked will be seen by the individual(s) helping her.

Fresh ideas for next year?i think you should be able to vote for as many people as you want to per category..hard to pick one pisces or one scorpio.
maybe each room should collaborate on their own awards. i think that would be pretty cool. M did that for the Cap room last year and it was good spirited and accurate and gave some less recognized posters appreciation rather than what these awards signify i.e. the prolific loudmouths campaigning for the meek/poor judges of character to vote for them.

Given the propensity for outright lies, personal attacks, intellectual dishonesty, Orwellian censorship, militant homosexuality and other consistent forms of disrespect on display by dickbreath and his lackeys, I find it deeply ironic that these same losers expect people to do as they say and respect ANYTHING these idiots have to say.

Can't speak to the last part of your post.
But I was subjected to a bit of the first.
I did see complaints that the voting was not like what it was in the past and I suspect that it is precisely because of the conduct of a few bad actors I've been reading about.
I do think PVAF made a good suggestion (I think others did too) about getting someone without any emotional investment to run the thing, if its that big a deal here.

I think the different rooms voting and submitting is also a good idea.
It prevents behaviors to "chase off" others.
I also think, taking into the mention of someone going on the boards and trying to influence/disrupt can be deflected, especially if its a long term person here with a known history. Their sudden appearance on a voting thread in each of those rooms would be a big red flag.

I didn't mean to insult anyone's efforts. As lame as it sounds, I have been a part of other message board awards. These awards seem a little hasty and unorganized. Sorry. Not saying you're not doing the best job with what you've been given, but it is possible for it to go a lot smoother than it's going right now.The way the voting is setup now, people are changing their votes after they see someone else's and get offended etc whatever.

It's all a crowd of oldies who have old drama that spill into the new thread, like someone mentioned earlier. Thus is why preparation shouldn't be too ahead of time so the newbs can have a reason to participate.

That would make the choice harder but the person voted wouldn't be a true representation of what your voting for in the first place... (At least in the scenario you are proposing unless we are to change the format to having the exact opposites voted for a category they don't fit purely out of humor and good fun).
Plus, where's my motivation to vote for them if neither of them are people I know anything about to form some kind of opinion based off my observation of them historically?

If my understanding is correct... Robyn posted Advertisements for the awards to on every signs board tell "everyone" to come vote. It had a direct link to the thread no less.
