Folks, have you or anyone in your life ever played with a Ouija Board?

The reason I ask is because I am curious to hear any stories connected to them.

About 14 years ago, I was dating this girl who was into this stuff, and I have a pretty interesting story to tell about it as well.

But for now, please feel free to discuss any experiences here.

Ok when I was a child n moved into my childhood home a ouija Was discovered in the attic. My mother threw it out twice only to find it returned to the attic twice. It was creeping won't touch it.

Creepy! Was someone playing a prank and doing it on purpose?

I've heard too many bad things about them and I'm easily impressionable. I'd be surprised to hear of a good paranormal occurrence happening from using it.

I've only used one once. 8th grade, I think. We went all out. Had candles lit & everything. And yes, we had been inspired by the movie "The Craft" too!!! haha!

I asked it who my future husband would be & all it said was "J." I don't so much believe in those things now, but I do find it interesting that every single man I have EVER date had a first middle or last name that started with a J. Even my husband's name starts with a J! It's just 1 of those things where you pause, but then say NAW couldn't be! lol

I asked it when I'd die & it said "25" but clearly I lived to see 26. I remembered that experience though & always kept it in the back of my mind. It wasn't until I turned 26 that I realized that it couldn't have been real

I've heard some crazy stories though. I met a medium who was saying that these boards aren't safe & aren't good to use. She said that they do have powers & that spirits can come through the boards, BUT that what you're seeing/feeling is really demons disguised as your family members, which is why the board sometimes knows things that it's not supposed to know.

One time when I was at the store Spencers in the mall, I saw some boards on sale. It kinda 100% ruined it for me believing in them when I saw that the label said, "Warner Brothers" or something like that lol I was like really?! So the factory that these are made in must have some really possessed workers!! lol now looking back, none of it really makes sense.

When I was a freshman in HS we made a homemade one, lit candles and all, I think we used a clear tumbler for our pointer. Unless one of the others was moving it, it DID move - and much too smoothly on plywood I should add. There was 4 of us, we were all rather freaked out. I hid it in my closet, my mother found it and burned it. I slept with a light on for a while after that though.

I love the fact that Hasbro sells them - just what kids need!

"Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board" worked for a group of us too when I was in middle school. I was also grabbed by something I couldn't see. Pulled back to break free and screamed. Felt I was always being watched when at school as well after we did "Bloody Mary" in the locker room - I saw shadows following me too.

Ah, kids minds...

I heard you're never supposed to burn the boards because that releases whatever was tied to the board or whatever came through. Meaning, it can stir up shit again. You're never supposed to touch a used one, either, because then that leads to energy being activated or that whatever was tied to the board will follow you or something. I don't remember which. I think you're supposed to cleanse it then bury it. I've heard mediums say that you can use a board safely, but that's only if you know how to filter what comes through. If you don't, then you can get demons and nasty stuff you don't want to deal with. I suspect only practiced mediums would be able to do this safely, though. Like Krys said, it's probably not safe to assume that whatever comes through is who or what it says it is. Demons love to lie.

I consider this interesting information. But, of course you have to believe in that stuff or else it just sounds silly!

My mom had one, and she said the same thing-- tried to get rid of it and could not.

Very creepy.

You have to be patient with ouija, and I'm not patient. Last time and only time I've used it I was trying to contact something that had been bothering me, and I asked it who it was and the pointer kept sliding to "T". Then nonsense and horizontal 8s. Nothing else so I got frustrated and stopped.

My friend and I used to do that in high school--and we would get that all the time.

The horizontal eights, I mean.

No problem with yes/no questions, but I really (really!) believe our own minds have a lot of influence, as well.

But we were asking it super heavy questions like: Who is _______ taking to prom?

She and I, though, were the only ones who could get that thing to basically fly around the board-- much slower if someone else stepped in.

*shudder*

But I would never do it by myself.

smh No way, josie. 😉

Doesn't that freak you out just a little, maelstrom?

personally do not think this is a playing matter. it can have a huge psychological impact on people stable or not.

i wonder why companies still sell it though? if people are getting freaked out by it all the time why do they sell it so much and sell it to children? (it's in the children's section of toys)

My ex used to and left it at my place after we broken up. I ended up getting rid of it, no need to chance getting any bad juju or any bad memories of her sticking around.

Maybe she wanted you to have a new demon lover. I heard that Zozo & Zaw, the in-house demons found in that board are players lol. I find it creepy that all the people who have used Ouija claim to have made contact with the two head demons.

I should have put *shudder* in bold. 🙂

No, I agree with you and Noddy on this one-- these things are dangerous.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: Just because something exists outside of third density, does not mean it LIKES you.

The F'd up part about all of your stories is the COMMON THEME: Any time all of you have tried getting rid of it, it magically reappeared!

See yeahNO, I don't have time for that. That alone would mess with my psyche more than it answering any of my questions would.
