I just got a new follower today. I don't mind but everytime that happens my natural instinct is to self censor my posts for some reason. Not be internet incognito me, but be an agreeable, more diplomatic version of me, like in real life.

Not really tbh. It usually happens after i make somewhat thoughtful (to the best of my abilities and time allowed) posts on a subject and i think they expect more of that, but i'm fine with one liners and semi-cheap compliments most of the time.

I don't want to "let them down" (lulz), but then like @The_Mad_Hatter says, i say to myself fuck it, they know how it's like and that's the end of it.
