Hi,

I have a small problem, I lost my debitcard shortly before I travel to my homecity cologne. Now I went to the bank and told

them to send the card to my brother. But I gave them the wrong housenr. They cant change the adress in time. So

now I found somebody in google who lives at the wrong nr. Even though he is a stranger i want to ask him to temporarily

put a paper with my name next to his, and then I will pick it up. I dont know how to approach him, i am a complete stranger

and this is a big ask. I am torn between calling him or send him a letter with a small present, or bribe like money or candy.

How do I ask him in such a way, that does not make him think i am scamming him or that i am creepy?

it sounds easier to have the bank cancel the card and send you a new one at the proper address.

thats the thing, they can do that in two weeks, but then i will be back in munich

Are in Koeln? And your brother is their neighbour? Then knock on their door with your brother, explain your situation, show some ID and ask them to give your debit card.

Are you near the place where they are sending the card? You should stop by and show him some ID and let him know that you accidently did this and got the house number wrong but your card would be there soon. let him know it was supposed to go to a family members house.

Depends on how lightly they take security in your country, if the people are more trusting.

Tell him there will be a small token of gratitude for the inconvenience of it.

Then gift him whatever you like if he actually gives it to you.
