When I was growing up I knew someone that would still nurse her child at like 7 or 8 yo whenever he would ASK for a drink. I find this sort of thing disturbing on many levels.

Breastfeeding releases wonderful feeling hormones in the brain. Not wonderful feelings for the tits but for your mood. When I breastfed for a year+ my breasts became completely de sexualized.. And when I weaned my son I went through a pretty weird couple of months of not getting those feel good hormones and adjusting back to normal. I would never breastfeed my child until that old but part of me I guess understands the attachments mothers and children have to it.

Also I think the title of this thread is pretty sick. I hope not is the answer I have to that :/ there certainly are fucked up people in the world.. Hopefully this is kore innocent and ignorant than it is perverted,,,

You think the title of a discussion is sick ... but, not the act of letting a child with teeth and able to eat food nurse from mom normal?

Because it makes mom feel good, and maybe she is lonely and needs love .. so it's ok .. but the title of the thread is sick?

An infants immune system is supplemented with the mother's milk until their immune system has matured; the suckling process also serves to increase attachment which is extremely important after birth. However, after a certain age, the child's attachment is pretty clear, and the immune system, while not completely mature, is fine on its own.

So breastfeeding at eight doesn't really do much of anything for the child health wise; attachment-wise, maybe. However, it may contribute to the child being too dependent on the mother since the milk is so readily available for them. The mother may also be dependent on the child still nursing for whatever reason. Increased feeling of attachment, the increase in hormones, ect.

The women breastfeeding a one or two year old isn't as disturbing as a woman breastfeeding an eight year old, IMO.

It is a beautiful bonding experience to nurse your child. Skin to skin, feeding and sustaining life with your own body. There is nothing perverted about it. I don't know why on earth this gets twisted. To feed someones sick fantasy I expect.

I wasn't making excuses for a child of that advanced age. Children should be weaned around age 1 or so. They should be completely on table food and full fat milk by then. I simply mean all the ridiculous objectification of breast feeding itself. Rendering it as something 'dirty' or 'unnatural'..even sexually perverted. In my opinion all that is complete and utter bullshit. I breast fed all 3 of my children, not once did I feel sassy. I did however feel love for my children.

Breastfeeding, IMO, should ALWAYS be the first option for the newborn/infant unless the baby just isn't accepting the nipple. It's the best option for the baby until they become old enough to be weaned.

Yes it should. No allergies, always the right temperature, always available, no bottles to wash and sterilize. Baby formula is so binding for little one. It tastes terrible ( Yes, I've tasted infant formula ) and is intended to be a replacement in case of problems. Cows milk is calf food, mothers milk is baby food.

It's alright if it was. 🙂 Just tossing in my two pence over the whole affair. And my general piss off as a mother in general that you feel as though you must go into hiding to do what your body naturally does to care for your little ones because *le gasp* someone might see you and get 'offended'.

It's really interesting outside of being disturbing. It makes you question why a woman would do something taboo (and probably uncomfortable) like that; then again, we don't know if this is done outside of our society like in more primitive societies.

Yes

In that one video, the woman with the camera tells her she should stop her child from pinching her nipples, and the mom says she can't stop him.

Now imagine ten years from now, when he's twelve, going on 13 and mom wants him to pinch her nipples.

In the first video, the mom is asked when she will stop feeding her daughter, and she talks about not doing it when she goes to college ..... so this means she will still do it when the girl is 15.

I think these women should be brought up on criminal charges ..... they can't use the arguement that it's ok to do it because it makes mother feel better because she has attachment issues ... because then a precedent is set, and pedo's should be allowed to legally use the same argument.

I'll bet the woman call their husbands into the room because they probably like it that he's got a hard on ... afterall, they like it when their kids are pinching their nipples ... and all us women know what happens when our nipples get pinched.

These people are child molesters, and should be in prison for it.

I am not into the idea of breastfeeding an older a child.. But I also want to believe for those that choose to do such a controversial and possibly weird as shit type of thing.. Are doing such a thing from an innocent and possibly ignorant standpoint. Like I explained in my own experience.. The hormones released when breast feeding made me very de sexualized in general during the year I breastfed my son.

Maybe those women's minds are completely off of the sexual plane.
