133 lbs and aiming for 175— Good luck man. It’ll take more than a year to gain 40 lbs of muscle. I think people average 15 lbs a year with some lucky ones gaining 20 lbs -ish at best. 40 lbs in one year would be steroid induced. What is your height? I’m just shy of 5’10” or 176 cm and I weigh 185 lbs/84 kilos currently, but my favorite weight so far was 170 lbs/77 kilos.

That was the recommended weight and date by bodybuilding.com. Could be wrong? I dunno. I'm 5'5" to 5'6". No I'm not going to take steroids.
With your 170 lbs at such height, maybe 175 is too heavy in my case.
Could you post pictures for motivation and inspiration?
I didn’t take any recent photos and I gained a beer belly lol I took a break from working out because of injury. All I have are old photos at this point and me making fun of my current “7 months pregnant” pics. I was able to maintain the same weight during the period I was down, but the muscles shrunk and fat came in. I’m planning to gain weight this year anyways.
For that weight that you chose, it’s gonna be really really hard as in a long road. You’re going to have to really burn the midnight oil. You’d actually HAVE to hit about 190lbs in muscle and fat gains and then burn that all off by shredding to drop down to 8% body fat ratio and one year isn’t right. Realistically 2-3 years.
I think you might’ve seen my photos from last year, but I was 169 lbs @10.2% body fat. My goal at that time was weight loss so I dropped 37 lbs in weight.click to expand

So maybe 3 years, I'll give myself some time to reach that goal. Could you PM me the pictures? I'm really curious.
Don’t give up, just really focus on it and before you know it, you’ll be just around the corner from finishing. I don’t mind posting it. I just have to upload to imgur. It’ll take a minute for me though, slightly occupied atm. I’m sure you could hit it. I wasn’t body building btw but this year I plan to. I mainly focused on mobility, accessory work, and hip/glute strength for Olympic lifts so my butt grew a ridiculous amount if anything lolclick to expand

But yes, maybe you're right about that. I just checked that part that I want to have the athletic body type, bigger than the model type. I want to be hot even with clothes on. Lol.
You look great Firebunny! You need longer pants guy. 😬click to expand

Are you really serious about that? Your goal is unhealthy and unrealistic and I don't wanna lose time in giving advices if you are trolling.

Checkout David Laid on youtube. He gained so much.
Was he ectomorph too?
I am not sure but he is damn hot. And he is an aquarian. Lol
Checkout these men: Calum Von Moger (Gemini), Bradley Martin (Gemini), Steve Cook (Sag) and David Laid (Aqua) their videos show easy to do workouts for men. My Aqua bf follows all of those and his favorites are Calum, Bradley and David. Bf has 6 pack abs and he did bulking for a bit and now in shredding phase.click to expand

I think what bodybuilding.com gave me as target weight and date are unrealistic. I don't know why they assigned me those figures.
My personal trainer is already bulky and muscular. He's taller than I by merely 2 inches but weighs around 160 lbs. only. I guess I'll be targeting 155 lbs but will give myself 3 years to do that.
Yup, gain weight and lose fat gradually.8% body fat is unhealthy for your body and very hard to sustain, especially with age. 10-12% is both low and still healthy so my advice is to aim for that.click to expand

Thanks. Would you consider them as model type or athletic type?
I would say athletic. Those guys used to join competitions. They arent lean except for David Laid. I think Laid is the leanest, model-ly type guy. The others are huge.click to expand

I'm going for the athletic type with bulky muscles and flat tummy. I just want to look yummy. 12% is fine? My body fat is 21% today.
How many years do you think I can achieve my goal body type?
Thanks for the answers.
Depends on how effective and disciplined you are. It depends on you.
I personally train 6+ times a week, have a good diet and have gained 22 pounds in an year. Was 9% body fat, now I'm 11% . I do a lot of calisthenics, high intensity trainings and weight lifting for my legs and shoulder muscles. So I'm obviously going for an athletic but not bulky body. Lean. But I was underweight when I started and before losing that much weight I used to train for 4 years, was clean and muscular. So it was easier for me.
My advice to you would be to just focus on training hard, building your endurance up, having a healthy and good diet and be patient for the results. I'm not a fan of setting long term goals when bodybuilding. Just focus on the now and give the best you can, push your limits consciously.click to expand

You can do it. I am also a jurist like you so I'm aware of the tense schedule but if you make it a priority you'll find time and energy. Good luck!click to expand
