OMG No!! I had no idea, I was quite fond of Nefer, I learned a lot from her, shared some of the same insights about men and life. I love you Nefer like a true DXP sister that you were, rest in peace. DXP will never be the same ever again, sending my condolences to your family.
Although I haven't bern here long, I was always deeply moved by her words of wisdom. I will miss you Nef...

Oh, wow. I feel like I *just* saw her posting not long ago. Although I didn't get a chance to get acquainted with Nefer, I must say- she was one beautiful lady!

I don't open up to too many people but Tracey was no ordinary woman. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure to know. I still can't believe she is gone. I can't stop thinking about the hours and hours I talked with her. She was there for me in a really tough personal time. She'd listen and comfort no matter how many times I made the same mistakes. I never had a chance to meet her but I will miss her so much. She has an ability to see things that are happening at a much deeper level. I alwasys admired how she could just look past stuff that others would get caught up in and get to the heart of the matter. We lost a great woman. Thoughts and prayers to those she left behind.
I wish her family and friends the strength and patience as the deal with this tragic loss and I wish her the peace that she rightfully deserves.

😢 r.i.p. She was one of the posters who really gave sound advices that was not judging. Truly a nice person especially to the newbies. I know shes still reading dxp and i hope she reads that every word of encouragement that she gave me before in time of my loneliness i still hold it in my heart miss nefer. Thank you so much. I may never had the chance to pay you back for your kindness but im hoping i can pay it forward.

Oh my god, I simply can not believe this news, Nefer?? Im at loss for words right now. I remember our early debates (back in 2007 I think)I secretly admired how she could put me in my place when I was being a smartass know-it-all, thankfully our exchanges became better with the years. You could always tell she'd put her entire soul in almost every post she made. Always real, always from the heart, a very strong woman who helped a lot of people on dxp. I dont know what else to say..in my 8 years on dxp I never really wanted to believe something like this could happen. May God take care of her 4 children 😢 Goodbye Nefer, we wont forget you.

She donated her time and skill to help and teach people how to look closely within and how to comprehend their own internal workings. She was an asset to her community, although a virtual community, a community still, and she affected many, many hearts and minds with her words. You're very fortunate to have had the time with her that you've had and to have been able to make so many wonderful memories. Cherish those memories, write them down now while they're fresh in your mind and save them for later. It will help you to process your grief, while capturing thoughts and feelings for later. Know that she will always be with you, and I wish you the very best.

Having spoken with a member of the fam, I think they would be very excite to have every lil bit of info they could have about her.

We are a house of mourning, in which a joyous light has gone out.....Fortunately we are together to comfort one another. I believe that across the veil, our Nefer is watching and smiling proudly at how much her time here really mattered. Just seeing everyone's contributions is awe-inspiring. As the shock starts to wear off, the realization of the blessing of Tracey Colby, sets in and inspires me more than I can actually express in words at this time.
We all need time to heal. The most vital step in coping with the emotions we feel right now, is acknowledging them, while remaining respectful of each other. We all have purpose. Acknowledging your emotions will hurt. Emotions are painful, but they provide us with the opportunity to control their outlet. Write down your feelings, share your fond Nefer stories with us, cry, be angry, talk to someone, and please be tolerant of others. We all grieve differently. This tribute thread is also a journal for each of us to aid in the healing process.

As I pondered that thought all day today, I couldn't help but smile at the contribution Tracey made to our dysfunctional DXP family. Like a blood family, we don't get to choose who our DXP family members are, but we do learn to live and cope with each other. Sometimes we come to appreciate the differences, and in the process, learn much more about ourselves. We grow. We learn the importance of compassion, we learn grace, we learn acceptance of ourselves and others. In full force, with love and commitment, our DXP community bands together as a family to celebrate Tracey's life, her strength, courage and love.....giving her a gift in the best way that we know how: by acknowledging her purpose and thanking her for teaching us a powerful lesson.
