Moral Compass

Doing the "right" thing.
Let's discuss what that means.

Naturally, a quick answer would be: Right Thing= Doing what society wants and doing things to benefit society. (I.E. Following the law and recycling, etc.) However, we all don't agree or see every law passed as just and sometimes even try to have laws removed or revoked due to being unjust.

Which means we as conscious human beings have some sort of internal code of conduct/justice that, while we may not be able to articulate it well, can intuitively feel it and be driven to act by it.

Like an impulse or instinct. Similar to hunger or fear. You may be able to control what you do, but you have no say in the matter about the feeling of it. Now applying this to something as complex of an ideal, like justice, do you have any idea why we'd have this inherently in us?

It's not just simply a thing we have due to how we're raised. Since while were taught right and wrong, we can still choose to DO right or wrong, as so defined by our society and people influencing us as we mature.

What and why do we have a feeling that, even in a society that had passion killings as legal and even hailed as a protected and important right to every citizen, that it wouldn't be right no matter how they try to justify it and nor matter how many people believe and follow it?

Moral development begins at about the age of 6, and becomes the basis of our moral code.
Think about that for a minute considering how some children are raised....

That's as far as I can get with my fuzzy head. Everything else I wanted to say is coming out all messy when I type it. Lol 😄

We cannot be fully passionate about Amy stance unless we are or we're somehow guilty of it. Imo

That's the thing.
We KNOW if an action is right or wrong seemingly internally.
Saving someone from a burning building is good.
No if you were asked to saved the person, you could reject the request, justifying it in any number of ways.

Your self-preservation instinct would have over powered the "moral" instinct you have in this example.

Usually going with my gut instincts helps alot..
I don't really do religious speeches....so for me

Treat people how they would want to an individual, who has been through way worse than you in life...try not to be too judgemental.. I can be being a Aquarius moon and VIT, but I do have a pragmatic side to balancing what I shouldn't being judging by...Usually different people with different life experiences or life style..

Crazy to think that being too materialistic is alright as long as the bills are paid, mortages, and house hold accessories.. then who cares where I want to take my next vacation..

I can over spend if I am not careful.. then I get stressed.. but I know an Aries that will bet on boxing matches or a few hundred in Vegas.. hmm I am more calculated when it comes to that.. I look at that and think ok here's my part in it..the logic vs balance..

Morals I grew up with two working parents who were strict and did not let me slack.. but I did slack at 16-17 years old and for that got kicked out and on the streets living with different family members and different schools too..

My mom just started giving me advice about life from 2006-presently. Well they disowned me and I did too for along time..However I so taught myself things only to learn from other people other than my parents. I learned from being street wise. VIrgo mom advice sometimes are truly difficult for me to grasp on..

Interesting. I just thought of my cheating sister-in-law and her morality. Pop goes the weasel. She definitely has gone where I've never gone before. I never thought to sleep with my boss to get raise and promotion. Certainly her generation knows well on how to get a leg up. 😉

Having said what I said in the above. Here is what I think about moral. It doesn't exist. It's bullshit. It's like religion that wants to box us up. We ALL do what we do to survive. Damn the consequences.

I guess to do the right thing means to do good, or do what needs to be done for the better usually. That's only because in our minds we believe that's the correct way to function. Really is anything truly real though? Can right or wrong even exist, or do we chose to believe it does? Even if you have the proof, proof is not a synonym for truth.

Morality I pratice, justice I follow, rules I dont.
