More and Wider Roads Induces Traffic Congestion in the Long Run?

Traffic flows on a single lane if there are no obstructions. Adding multiple lanes slows the flow and adds to congestion because people can't change lanes for shit and slow down to merge instead of speeding up.

Don't you think the problem is caused by the no-changing-lanes policy rather than the addition of more lanes?

ime, cretins changing lanes to get ahead, congesting in the long run when road comes back narrower and everybody changes lane back
