He wants to open a room where people pay him money so they can vent anger by throwing / smashing shit.

I have no idea what motivates him, he ran for council last month and tried to go for mayor and he's only 27, I supported him and handed out fliers on Election Day

But this idea of his really gets my goat for some reason, every time he mentions it I want to tell him it's the worst idea I've ever heard because he won't make any money from it and I think primarily he wants to do it because he thinks it's cool and edgy.

Having said that who am I to crush his dreams? I want all my friends to succeed in life and achieve what they pursue, but I'm just not sure I want to invest any care factor into mundane projects....

I had to cover his shift at our work so he could have a meeting about the space he wants to hire....I had to host a meat raffle....it wasn't cute....

Do you ever get in situations like these?

lol your friend has both creativity and ambition. I say, let him be overambitious and idealistic. He may one day see his own ideas be turned into reality, which may, in turn, lead him to the kind of success he's looking for. Or, at the very least, let him do it so that he'll experience enough failure that will temper his idealism with some realism, and cause him to narrow down and figure out what he wants to do with his life.
