You're meant to ask a doctor not random people on the internet
Ask your doctor definitely. It depends on what the rods and plates are doing for you. Basically just ask your doctor, but feel free to also see a fitness physician for a second opinion.
To clarify, I am only asking because I dont have insurance and cant afford to see a doctor right now.
I was mainly asking to see if anyone with the same background with plates like me would know based off what their doctor said.
Sorry for the confusion again.
Get into the pool. Less impact and stress on your joints
Don’t have rods and plates in my body but I’m recovering from a car accident.
I’m on a regimen of chiro 3Xs per week
Acupuncture 1x per week
Massage 1x per week
I’m on strict orders not to lift anything over 10pds. No lifting weights, no resistance training, no Pilates.
But I am cleared to do yoga.
And swim of course.
I would like to get the plates taken out but need insurance to do so. And then I am not even certain insurance would pay for it.
The thought of not being able to my body in better shape besides maintaining my slender frame is really depressing to say the least...

I had a question for any gym rats in here. I have metal plates and rods in my legs from an accident 9 years agao.
I have been hesitant to go to the gym to work out because I am scared doing it could mess the plates and rods up and cause an infection in my body.
Does anyone know if you can work out with rods or plates in your body? Or is it too much a risk for the rods and plates to come undone and cause infection?
I would like to get into shape for health reasons, because the only thing I am doing right now is dieting.
Any info would help, thanks
