I live in the UK and there seems to be an office culture where individuals bring cake in on their birthdayWhat is up with that? Just seems so odd to me. It's like having a birthday meal with a large group of people and the birthday person pays the bill for the whole party.
seems bass ackwards if you ask me but then again I don't tell people at work when my birthday is cause I don't like all the hype
I make my one cake, once a year 🙂 sliced at home, some napkins and done.
But i leave it there no party for me, dont like the hype either, i feed them, they happy 🙂
if it's the uk, just pretend your religion forbids celebrating birthdays ✋

well one cake is really not that expensive. it's the same where i work. i sent a cake when i had my kid too.
You say that but some people are so poorly paid that money/time to buy or make cake for the office is a low priority.
