Reality Shows

They disgust me!
[venting]Thats wasting time watching someone else live when you could be doing something productive to get to where they at.
How can I enjoy myself watching someone else enjoy luxury doing shit I can only dream of when in my reality Im struggling.[/Venting]

i hate them too. i dont understand that a bunch of nobodys,
with sh!t for brains, can get a tv show and people will watch it..
& they become like famous for it. im thinking of jersey shore and that here -dies-
and the hills and stuff. but theres also people doing that over here in the UK.
BLEH! im vexed (:

Reality shows are tripe. Then again I don't watch much television as a rule.

Not going to knock Reality TV or people who like it.
I love sports and people say the same thing about that.

So i cannot be a hypocrite.
I say ...Watch what you like....

The Biggest Loser is an awesome show.
The Bachelor/Bachelorette is dumb....but no one forces me to watch it if i dont want.

I understand what you saying, but reality shows usually consist of regular people like you and me. They not stars, dont have star power, i should hooked up a camera in my neighbors house and watch that reality...they living their lives while I put "mines on hold" getting stuck on couch watching theirs.

While I TOTALLY get what you're saying FF in theory....sometimes I'm in a shitty, stressful place and I really enjoy a dumbass reality show. Its simple, its stoopid, and it is just a nice little escape. Does it suck that these idiots are getting fame/fortune for being just that...idiots?!? Sure it does! But nothing I can do about that. I can, however, laugh at how dumb they are when I really need it the most. 🙂

After all...how is it any different than scripted shows? The purpose is the same. Entertainment. People could just as easily become lazy, couch hugging, S.O.Bs watching scripted shows, just as they can from reality tv.

I have hardly watched any TV in the last 6 mos or so but I have to say that I was quite addicted to a number of reality shows. I guess I kind of related to them b/c they were people just like you and me. IDK actually why I really enjoyed them but I did.
Now I have really just 'splurged' on TV at the gym and watching V on the computer. 🙂

The new (or new to us) series of Beauty & and The Geek just started over here and WOW!

OMG I hate Sam!

I hate reality TV. I liked the first few series of big brother when it was psychological and they used to bring in various psychologists to give their analysis then they removed the psychologists and turned it into "a bunch of losers getting drunk in a house" so I stopped wathcing.

I dont watch TV much at all these days. It's all a load of crap. I feel the same way about soaps as I do about reality TV. There just doesnt seem to be any point to them. When I do watch TV I watch Panel shows, stand-up, News night, and anything else that is informative/funny. Also got into "The Event", love my conspiracy dramas!
