Someday I would like to find a male like this but just might like him then you know emotions. Haha. Not sure if it works, but you get to save money or go to school, and oh have food too in the tummy, but have any other company come over with out permission like. I'm so private with my shit. Waking around nude can fly with woman not sure about males.

I've lived with several women platonically. One whom I was involved with previously.

The one I lived with previously, I lived with the longest out of them all and got along with the most. Funny.. Romantically, we weren't compatible. But as friends/roommates? Perfect relationship.

Negatives? Women are dirty. Don't do their dishes. Have shits/farts that could melt paint.

Positives? Having a women who is a friend and okay with walking around naked is always a plus. Easy to talk to about relationship issues and won't judge you for it. Their fur babies count as my own.

I did a short term rental in santa monica sharing a 3 bedroom 2ba condo with two female college students. It was absolute hell! They were complete slobs, nasty hair covering the bathrooms...tracking sand throughout...broken beer bottles left in the sink from the parties they threw. I lived there 2 months and I swear I never saw one of the girls do laundry at all. Smh.

A friend moved in with a woman he met on a craigslist-type website.

They've lived together for almost a year now and it works fine for them.

They aren't friends, actually. They just share a space. They set boundaries and try to respect them.
Yes I'm currently living with a Male who I didn't know prior. Found the rental ad he placed on trulia and since the space and location was beyond perfect I figured why not?

So far it's been great. He keeps to himself, babysits my dog when I'm gone for work during the day, and has no problem if I have overnight guests. So far it's ideal.

I had a girl roommate, and I didn't think it was possible at the time for a girl to be messier than a dude. Sink was always discolored weirdly, clothes left all over the place, didn't really clean up as much, etc. It was interesting to say the least. My place was a clusterf*ck because of her.

As for keeping it platonic? It's certainly possible if there isn't attraction involved. Lay out the ground rules, respect each other's space, and it can certainly work.

My ex at the time was very jealous of her because she was a friend of mine that played music with me every so often. When me and my ex broke up, my roomie was going through a similar situation so we definitely got closer from living together. We did sleep together but it was no strings attached and only when we were in need of it or just high or whatever. She ended up moving out after a year to another state though, but we still keep in touch.

Would probably do again, but only with someone I've personally known prior. Usually, you can arrange meetings and meet potential roomies though.

One, this is why I got my own for pet issues alone.

2. Only do that to help yourself out if necessary, save and then go get your own again.rules rules rules.
I have a dog as well and need secure outside space for her since I work long hours. In this city I can't afford to rent my own house with everything I want and need (in a good area). And I refuse to spend more than 25% on rent. So the obvious solution was to rent a room from someone.

You really don't find that often in a roommate. That's a good deal.

Yeah it's hard being a renter with a dog. Most people who are open to renting to someone with dogs already have a few in their household. My dog is old and not the nicest to other dogs so it was near impossible to find someone open to take us.

He works from home as a graphic designer and told me he missed having a dog around. He lets her outside on his coffee refills in the kitchen and will take her for a short walk even.

I lived with a guy for a few months when I was 21 or 22. Found the ad in the classifieds, went to "interview" him and all checked out. He was 10 years older, was a produce manager at a grocery store, clean apartment, never missed a rent payment.

Well, things seemed to work out fine, until I realized a few things:

He was a functioning alcoholic and kept his empties in a 50 gallon garbage can on the balcony

He got a kitten and got pissed when he (kitten) liked me more than him.

He would bring home random girls from the bar, and eventually ended up getting a horrendous case of rectal warts that had him screaming in the bathroom every time he took a dump or took a shower, that ultimately led to him requiring laser surgery to remove. This one was actually kind of funny to me...

The straw that broke the camel's back was when he called me at 2am from a strip club drunk, and begging me to come get him because he got into a fight over an ex girlfriend.

All this time I was seeing Mr Aqua, and I have no idea why, but he thought there was something going on between me and this loser. Uhm, not.

First off, yuck. And also damn.

My gem was a little skeptical when I told him I was moving in with another guy but once he met him he was way more relaxed. My housemate is pushing 50 and there is virtually no attraction there for me.

Best of luck that it works out with no complications.

Funny thing is that this guy was really nice and normal. My parents came for dinner (he cooked), Mr Aqua met him and he didn't come off as a creep at all.

Maybe he was going through a rough time in his life or something, but I didn't want to stay any longer to find out.

Yeah I did the whole Craigslist research looking for roommates but everyone was not willing to accept the fact I had one lazy Garfield cat. But they had dogs who didn't get along with cats. Or ads that said no pets which eliminates half those ads btw, or a big pet deposit.

So I got my own. Anyways I stay in an hour away from LA the rent for my apartment myself is now 1020 for one bedroom and that's the cheapest anywhere.

I wanted to find and rent a house next year up to what I pay now. Like you I work 12 hour night shifts, never there but damn at least I can have a house for this much I pay now. And space. Damn rent so expensive everywhere that you have to really need a roommate now or platonic friend that you actually sorta like. Lol

That's awesome but I work nights so quiet and calm is wonderful from the hours of 9am-5pm. Haha I would never see the owner except for rent day.

So far so good. I won't make the mistake of being too friendly with him. I don't need these kind of crazy ass complications.
