but does anyone know anything about the drug war in Mexico—

I have a 3500 word paper (doesn't sound THAT bad?) due Monday

Yeah I procrastinated. Seems to be my thing lately.

I found tons of news articles already but I was wondering if anyone had any other info??

What is there really to say in 3500 words?
Drugs are bad, mkay?
& Mexicans too apparently??

(omg, I love Mexicans, please don't take that the wrong way)

Thanks beetchesss 🙂

Here are some juicy bits. It's mostly about weed, which is the bulk of the cartels' revenue. Truth be told, it's kinda propagandaish, but it makes some good points:

Forgot to add about the ATF gun running thing. They "wanted to see where the guns ended up," as if a Narco Warrior is going to give his shit back.

The only solutions to the Narco War would be:

A: Nuke the shit out of Mexico.
B: Decriminalize and regulate drugs. Afterall, how can you possibly stop a drug war when the product that generates the revenue to support the war is traded so far underground?

Aww, I got one of a former Zeta Leader in Quintana Roo, Bernardo Gonzalez. He was killed in a confrontation with military personnel. He's slumped over with blood everywhere and the top his head blown open. It'd be great for a paper on Mex-sick-o's drug problems.

There was another I saw where the Zetas had chopped up this woman for snitching (I think that's why they did it) but they left her body parts out in the street to be found with a sign warning people not to cross them. The sign had a big Z signature. Since I can't read spanish, it looked like Zorro slashed her up or something.

Damn LibraSid, good one! I'm gonna have to check Stratfor out more often. I've heard about it before, but never really checked it out. As for dividing up the territory among the cartels in the interest of peace, that will likely allow for easier law enforcement infiltration. Them constantly shooting at each other no doubt makes it much harder for cops, not to mention that greed is a factor. I also wouldn't doubt that the cartel gunman are hopped up on blow or speed for courage.

Another couple articles for ya Bri, concerning death tolls:

Yeah, shit's nuts down there. A friend of mine in college actually wanted to visit there for Spring Break. It didn't take too much talking for me to convince him otherwise.

Here's another video:
