Civil Rights Act Bill of 1964....
In the Southern States:
Democrats:
House: 60%
Senate: 69%
Republicans
House: 80%
Senate: 82%
In the Northern States:
Democrats
House: 90%
Senate: 92%
Republicans
House: 8%
Senate: 5%
Things were done just a little bit differently up North.
If you look at the South a little more closely, the margin 69 to 82% wasn't that far off.
Nonetheless, overall, combing the Northern & Southern states more Democrats were still in favor of the Bill.
