What’s going on in your life?

Is anyone else completely unfazed at the attempt to shoot Trump? Even Ryan Cohen is posting weird crap 😕 Obviously staging it as a tactic for support/votes is not beneath him. Literally everything is so shit with this country whether on a federal or local level.

We were recently hit with a hurricane (something that we should be very used to by now) that took out electricity AND mobile signal for days (some will still be without electricity 11 days after). To make matters worse the heat advisory hit up to 106 degrees during the time.. The 4th largest city in the US with a 3rd world country infrastructure thanks to deregulation (republican leaders of the state get paid off handsomely to overlook all the corners being cut to the power grid). There are more deaths/hospitalizations as result of the power outage than the actual hurricane. No one cares to do anything about it because the uber wealthy all already have generators. It’s just the millions of plebs that will get the brunt of it. It’s so bad that even a bad storm nowadays causes the electricity to go out in many parts for a few hours at the least. Linemen have said our power grid is hanging by a thread. A category 5 hurricane at this rate (which is probable) would wipe us out for months. I don’t think any other state has ever had such issues because our state is the ONLY state with its own power grid. A lot of us don’t think this is getting enough national attention because those responsible and in power are making sure it gets overlooked. This time around losing mobile signal and any form of access to the internet FOR DAYS on top of no electricity unlike other times in the past was not a coincidence. It’s 2024, it was completely dystopian. Send help.

Things are not getting better, they’re getting worse because no one is actually holding them accountable to fix the aging power grid. They always basically investigate themselves only to find things inconclusive 😂😭 They don’t forget to pay themselves well for it either. It’s such a shit show. We will be getting our own generator soon but the options are overwhelming and the demand this time around is huge.

I think it's all fake. At this point the simulation can't fool me anymore. None of this is real, and I'm literally inches from escaping it. The real question is what's on the other side? I won't go deeply into it because I've already described my recurring dreams of how I cross the line of the simulation or "reality" and what happens to me every time I do so. If people don't believe there is something beyond, or a controlling power outside our mental capacity then I truly feel those people are lost.

This is all literally a game. People are being tested daily because someone or something wants to see your reaction. Like monkeys behind a cage they can't see through, yet a higher power is throwing in random shit to see how they react. That is literally us. We are the monkeys dancing around at every little thing thrown into our cage. A cage that is simulated to replicate freedom, free will, and actual control over things. Which we actually have none of.

The guy I work with likes to race ahead and get a whole lot done. And we had a great week and got through a lot a d I was thinking "okay where is it, somethings gotta give" because there seems to be an unwritten law at this place that everything happens at a certain pace and everything going well seems to balance with things going not well, not bad but just things start going wrong in funny ways like the tractor will randomly get a flat battery or something will get stuck or lost and we have to find it, and it always happens for the exact amount of time that was gained by us being efficient and finding clever ways to circumvent the process and get work done faster.

So today about mid day just as he was feeling like we were getting it all done and this random shit started going wrong and we wasted the rest of the day sorting it out. It was so funny because it was just one thing after the other kept going wrong for him. It's happened to me too when I was in the same circumstance so I could see it coming and sure enough it all arrived on que. I ended up getting water all down my gumboots too which I guess was payback for laughing at it all. But the chaos is funny to me.

Well, it’s been a hell of a week here and not in a good way!

Just some examples;

-Friend is supposed to be flying from LA to Budapest but with todays IT outage, I have no idea where she landed/if she landed at all 🤨

-Mom’s friend is flying from Las Vegas to Croatia and also got lost in the airspace

-We have been hit with the biggest heat wave ever. Adriatic Sea temperatures is at 30 Celsius and some places temps is 40+ and on top of that humidity

-I asked to install AC, but the wait time is few months because everyone is installing it all of a sudden which overworks our grid. So we had couple of power outages already.

-I was supposed to possibly start a new position which would require me to move back to USA but I’m not so sure with the new geopolitical climate

-We have had a surge in violence over here. Domestic violence, random violence, traffic violence, cruelty to animals. Just horrible and kinda unprecedented in some ways.

I’m not phased by his shooting the way people are, the way they’re praising Trump. I’m actually concerned because a lot of Biblical prophecies are being fulfilled, and I think he’s the final antichrist. As you mentioned, earthquakes and natural disasters, power outages and rising costs of daily living essentials, and the world is preoccupied with anything else but the things that matter.

I’ve also started feeling like this since I was 21. With the internet our human race has never been so connected before yet there is a rise of loneliness. I’m so sick of people glued to their phones everywhere I go instead of interacting with their family or friends or whoever they’re physically out with. People love to blame the younger generations but the older generations are guilty of this too. I often find myself telling my dad to put down his damn phone way too often. Really ironic as I remember he once broke my laptop when I was in high school out of anger because I used to be so glued to it or something. I very much cherish hang outs with others that don’t involve looking at one’s phone at all. It oddly feels like an old pastime when it shouldn’t.

only 5 months in and i'm back in working order and my in-laws started fawning extra over my son and wanting to spend even more time with him (he looks like a replica of his father) so it was prob a real trip down memory lane especially for my MIL and FIL.

grumpy cap baby 😂😂 but i'm sure you'll know how to make her laugh. mine thinks peak-a-boo, baby ducks and sneezing are the funniest things ever.

and yeah still haven't decided on a theme but i'm leaning on something with animals coz he's fascinated by them 🤷🤷

She has extreme separation anxiety from her dad and I but it looks like I’m developing it too since I haven’t ever been away from her more than like 5 hours a handful of times. “Wild One” is always a classic. but i'm trying to convince him that it's prob best to maybe have another in 2026 coz we need to chill for a bit and just enjoy our firstborn but i'm looking at these cute pics of newborn siblings with toddlers together and i'm def seeing the appeal 🤔🤔

and our boy still has a cold (his fever ended yesterday) so we were panicking about that. in laws think we're a bit 'too neurotic' what with being first time parents so i think maybe we still need to really work things out with this whole parenting thing.

but i'm trying to convince him that it's prob best to maybe have another in 2026 coz we need to chill for a bit and just enjoy our firstborn but i'm looking at these cute pics of newborn siblings with toddlers together and i'm def seeing the appeal 🤔🤔

and our boy still has a cold (his fever ended yesterday) so we were panicking about that. in laws think we're a bit 'too neurotic' what with being first time parents so i think maybe we still need to really work things out with this whole parenting thing.

on my end, not much to say coz our politics def crazier than ever but people here are pretty laid-back mentally about such things. i'm busier than usual too, a lot going on with some projects i've taken up. also i'm trying to think up themes for my leo son's pre-bday photoshoot.

only 5 months in and i'm back in working order and my in-laws started fawning extra over my son and wanting to spend even more time with him (he looks like a replica of his father) so it was prob a real trip down memory lane especially for my MIL and FIL.
grumpy cap baby 😂😂 but i'm sure you'll know how to make her laugh. mine thinks peak-a-boo, baby ducks and sneezing are the funniest things ever.
and yeah still haven't decided on a theme but i'm leaning on something with animals coz he's fascinated by them 🤷🤷

That’s nice. I’m not going back to work anytime soon (family business anyway). She has extreme separation anxiety from her dad and I but it looks like I’m developing it too since I haven’t ever been away from her more than like 5 hours a handful of times. “Wild One” is always a classic. I was too busy to focus on a theme for her 1st birthday but LOVED her birthday cake:

and yeah the initial invitations i've had printed (haven't sent out yet) def got that safari/jungle theme so maybe best to just stick with that instead of thinking up other things coz i think i like it better than the secondary plan that i have which is more farm/barnyard animals.
maybe if you're sick of pink, maybe some lavender? or like those unicorn themes might be cute for the 'Two Sweet' theme.

this is his 2nd BIG fever and everyone is getting sick what with the weather's not helping any. as new parents, we were both crazed with panic on his 1st BIG one which OP's very familiar with (i've asked for her advice in the past). he was just about a newborn then and now he'll be a full year old this august.

but yeah bottom line, ofc it's not just always our in laws who gets to decide how we handle things. it's just sometimes very difficult to completely disregard them with our culture being what it is.

Lol yeah in pictures two very young siblings look very cute but the reality of it doesn’t fool me 😵‍💫 My 18 month old has always been (and still is) a horrible sleeper. She always wakes up multiple times a night needing us and it’s exhausting. So I have no idea how we’d maneuver that with a newborn. My husband has to go out of town for a few days every week so I’d be left alone with both some nights and the idea of that gives me anxiety. We are moving soon and will be 10 mins away from my parents so that should help. But my husband is weird and forces his aging mom to help take care of our baby instead of my younger parents because some of some weird ego issue. We initially wanted like 3 kids but yeah no hahaha. We are definitely waiting until bebe turns 2 at the least. I kind of want to get the years of raising babies out of the way so we can finally focus on doing other things sooner??

In my culture it’s also “not appropriate” to disregard what elders say but I’ve definitely learned to kind of put them in their places. Just because they’ve managed to keep their multiple kids alive during their time a certain way doesn’t mean it was the best or the only way. I try to get the point across they weren’t perfect parents with perfect kids and every parent has their own parenting style whether their ego can accept it or not. You guys are doing an amazing job raising your sweet Leo and he will get better soon ❤️ I recently passed a cold to my baby which I thought wasn’t contagious and she literally lost interest in eating or drinking for a week. It broke my heart but we just had to get through it. It will only get worse once they start school!
