What's sad is there is a fantastic brewery in Gary now.
18th Street is a nice tap room! Three Floyds isn't too far from there either.
I've heard 18th Street was nice. I just haven't had the time to drive up and try it. But I love their beers. They have an Imperial IPA that's simply fantastic.

I'm gonna have to take you up on that suggestion tonight & ask if the place I go to on Thursdays has 18th Street's Imperial IPA! I know they carry Moonwalk sometimes in cans but I haven't tried their imperial. I do like my IPAs tasting like matzah, like Half Acre's Space IPA or Zombie Dust.

I used to drive *through* Gary a lot some years ago. Mostly viewing it from I 94 (at a distance).

Don't even get me started on the Skyway. Over 6 years, they always seemed to be working on the same exact stretch of highway. Unbelievable.

Perfect place for a brewery---low overhead, good beer sells and results in good jobs, and how often does a beer delivery truck get held up?

I've had Three Floyds, but not 18th Street.

What's really sad about those Gary pictures is similar to some of those Detroit websites that show a "then and now".
