Episode 1 was really hard to watch. Halfway through it I think I rolled my eyes half a dozen times and threw up my hands 4 or 5 times.

Didn't really tear up, but I gradually got more and more frustrated as the minutes passed.

YES. Goodness. I ended up reading up spoilers of the actual events after the first episode just so I didn't have to finish watching the season to find out. But my Libra husband on the other hand insists on finding out through the show so I'm having to watch it 😣

Well tbf, the tv series is often dramatized a lot more than the actual events. Dascha Polanco (from OITNB) plays the role of a woman I totally abhor, and I was secretly wishing to set her hair on fire everytime she opened her mouth lol.

The presentation was way too dramatic at times for my tastes.

If the whole thing wasn't based on a real case I would have labelled the entire first episode as idiot plot because practically all the parents and children acted dumb as fuck.

The side jabs at Trump were unnecessary and potentially hamper the impact the story could otherwise have a for some people.

Tbf, the issues addressed in episode 1 have existed long before Trump, and continue to exist today. Those "side jabs" you saw were just your interpretation of them being digs at Trump....they're really just indications of what Trump represents.

If anything, they're also probably an indirect reminder of how Trump dealt with the documentary version in 2013.
