Nah, HxH is a disaster I knew it would be hard to make a new serie after YYH (the best manga/anime ever created) but they took a lot of wrong decisions.

Most of the story arcs are boring, the two main characters are two very annoying children (in fact the story becomes slightly more interesting as soon as they're off screen). And they've been trying to make a mix of several popular animes of the time but it is not very interesting.

so what anime would you recommend? ... if it helps things that I seen and liked ...inuyasha...deadman wonderland...high school of the dead...

HSOTD is so bad, I won't waste time making you recomendations because we have diff taste.

I can recomend you Saint seiya Lost Canvas. It's a miniserie about zodiac based fighters, so most DXP should appreciate. Saint seiya is an old franchise and most of the series and reboots are acquired taste, I can't really recomend them, but lost canvas is the best and most mainstream. The 3D movie is not bad too. Whatever you do don't watch saint seiya omega.
