Not sure if these qualify but the vibe feels somewhat similar. These are actually considered Afro-beat (pioneered by Fela Kuti). Think of it as an inversion of jazz fusion in that the artist's approach is to incorporate jazz and other musical stylings with traditional west african sounds as the foundation:
