I love the 90s too! Till now! For me, it's like FREEDOM!
I mean I do love music from the 90's. But I realized that there was a lot of crappy music back then that I actually thought was good. I don't hate on the 90's considering sometimes I get stuck in the 90's. Really I have a boombox, N64, and a Playstation One, I only bring the boombox for parties though.

I took this night to listen to some old music from maybe between 1996 to around 2003. And after listening to it for a bit, a few pop songs and some rock. It gave me a good conclusion. I look back now and I how I honestly thought music back then was bloody awesome. But now that I look back, it fucking sucked ass. After I listened to some shit like Jive Jones I honestly think the title Jive is well deserved. The lyrics back then were too straight forward and obvious and how no true soul behind it. It felt like someone was singing about how terrible school was and some dumb chick they can't even score. And act how everybody rides their wagon. But then again the late 90's brought groups like nsync which I can admit was pretty impressive. I say I like their music, but I'm not a fan. But yeah I realized that a lot of shit in this time period really sucked. And I was only 2 to 9 years old at the time. I guess when you're young it's pretty easy to accept what you hear. I've heard good music from this time period from rap, and metal, and country, and also techno. But for regular Pop and rock. Not much. Anybody else notice this?
Maybe this is why I've never been a fan of pop. There's good stuff, really good. But it's also rare.
Classic rock kind of disappeared in the late 80s to early 90s. The closest you had to it was G&R.
Most pop songs don't become classics. They're usually 3 chord tunes with a catchy melody that people listen to because it reminds them of a gf or bf or what they did last weekend. But they're not timeless so they sound like crap 10 years later.
There was some good music back then, but most of it wasn't on the radio.
