Parents are not revealing their baby's sex and want him/her to choose who he/she wants to be.
Does one need "the box" of gender norms in the first place though? It doesn't have to be a small, boldly outlined box, does it? I'm just wondering if this will be more confusing than not. It seems almost like (risky) radical experimentation with a child. Would it help make the kid a stronger individual? They'll have to deal with other people's curiosity and prodding, etc. Are the parents prioritizing personal agenda over "protection"?
