I was just thinking about this. Cause I recently moved to a different town and everyone is super serious and keeps to themselves.
Im kind of halfway, I can be extroverted but I certainly know how not to be lame and be the only one yelling.
Some people like to show off in lame ways.

I can be halfway too. I think that's fine and it's OK to be loud in small doses as well. I just feel like I find myself not enjoying team meetings now or even looking at the slack channel because I know who's in it and who has the most to say. I really want to adapt or sometimes not mind them but it's hard when they both are the in your face type. Like they literally tag me in some chats which I don't think I need to participate in.
Yeah. Going back to your original question, I usually do have to cope with those type of environments, but I can handle my own self confidence so it's just annoying to hear people yelling all the time especially when you have to concentrate. Usually people who mess around during work are usually bad workers and lack concentration. They're probably in the wrong job field.click to expand

I think getting fired is not in the cards at the moment. I'm still the top performer in the team. But my success was purely results based and have not once praised myself for any of my hardwork. These days tho, I feel like I'm pushed to do it or everyone will think I'm not performing because the two kept talking about how great they are. Like for example, they closed one to two deals and they announce it like its so big. Like it's such a massive thing. I closed 15 deals already and I didn't talk about it. I got fed up today that I actually intentionally self promoted as well like they do. Which is not me. And in the end I actually felt quite bad doing that as its out of character for me.
idk i dont like to give advice because i'm not in ur positions,
generaly i do less talk more work, and i dont fux wiz those people. and if i have to talk to someone is the big boss only.

Sounds like it’s not an introvert / extrovert issue necessarily but more that you just feel like you’re taken for granted. Is there much demand for your job? Could you move somewhere else?
Why did the Virgo get fired? LMAO 🤣

I can be fake friends with them by pretending to laugh at their rude jokes or pretend I didn't see it in the chat. I do less talk and more work as well. If anything, I'd prefer to spend my time on my son than chat with them.

I agree with that. What I hate the most is getting unexpected calls from them when I'm trying to concentrate. It messes up my schedule lololol Also today, both Co workers were praising each other in the company group chat again. When they're not the only ones who have an achievement this week. I felt like it's not become a competition and I chimed in and praised another coworker that they didn't mention at all and mentioned my own achievement this week as well. It feels like other people's performance are drowning when the extroverts talk because when they talk too much about their achievements it almost sounds so real like they've really done well even though truth is they didn't. And I kind of hate the feeling like it's a competition. But at the same time if I don't make my voice known, I feel I'm gonna passed on for opportunities within the business.
I almost never praise myself and let others do it for me that's when it hits the hardest imo. I'm a quiet person most of the time but know my timing.
Also extroversion is not only people who are loud and boisterous imo. Extroversion can be the ability to be outgoing in any situation.click to expand

Well basically you get that cause you have Aries manager. S/he only needed one more fire to pat their shoulder to become their true self. And Sag is with them cause fire naturally gets along, plus it's a manager, s/he may prefer stayibg close to them cause of that position only.
I know people have various sing in their work place and they rarely have that issue. Issue usually appears when boss is woman and usually Cap or Aries. Males are fine mostly. What can you do about your situation? Tried telling them they're crossing lines? Cause believe it or not Aries and Sag may not realize they're being rude at all and it may become their normal attitude cause they think people find them interesting that way. It may aound stupid but that's how it is. Aries friend I had at first used to bully me. Believe it or not, she was literally bullying me and idk how exactly we became friends. Later I met another Aries that became super friendly, only to literally to stab me in the back by sticking into asses of some other people who she found more useful and she lied all sorts of things about me. I stopped being feiends with Pisces cause he believed her lies, she told him that I said some horrible things about him and he believed her 🤷🏼♀️ they can be like that. So it sounds like you got two fire signs who are the same kind of people and that makes your life harder but sometimes it works to simply tell them what they are doing is wrong cause they might not even realize it
P.S. I'm not that kind of Sag, my personality type is INTP so all I wrote is from a perspective of introvert as well.

So hon, start looking for a new job because it has to be done anyway. Same company will never pay you as much as a new company hiring yu for your outstanding performance.
When you will be going for the interviews - you will feel better already. Do NOT let yourself being so good and miserable.

I think they feel insecure around you since you're the top performer, that's why they need to boast about their little performance just to feel good enough about themselves, I don't think you should downgrade to their level keep doing your best and look for better opportunities where you can grow cause you seem like you've already plateaued in this place.click to expand

It's what I used to do. I used to just work quietly. Make sure I do everything that I need to do to achieve the results. It did me well. I am uncomfortable praising myself in public and even if someone praises me, I sometimes don't know how to react apart from saying thank you.
They're extremely extroverted in my opinion. And quite political which is hard for me to navigate because of my personality. The type who would praise the boss for saying something stupid during a meeting kind of political. Quite frankly, part of me wishes I can do that. But it's really not in me. If anything, I usually thank and praise the contributors in our job who does small bits of the work but without them, the results won't be there like the one who created the presentation as an example. Part of my job is to manage the client presentation and make sure it's worth presenting. But sometimes there's someone in my team who does the editing and I just check it and change bits that I think need to be changed.
I see. What you're referring to is a brown noser. What I've noticed about those people is they are not very independent and consequentially always fit that role of minion. In my current job I am quiet because everyone has a relative or a friend that works there but I always value my independence and self sufficiency. It's a rare trait nowadays.click to expand

Thank you for that. I think they could be unaware of how annoying they can get when they praise each other all the time. They're both in their 40's and I'm younger than both. I'm not sure they will take it well haha. I guess I just kinda miss my peace. It makes me sad because I actually enjoy my job. But these days I'm getting stressed with them.
Good thing is that fire signs don't get offended easily, so I doubt they would take it too bad. I had that Aries friend once ask me is she really that arrogant as people seem to see her and I told her YES! They really can be unaware that they're like that sometimes. And Sags easily pick on energy of those that they get along with so they become more like them - you know that mutable energy lol I hope you get things going in better direction with them and wish you more plaesent times at your job againclick to expand

I am an introvert but not at the expense of my performance. I work with all 3 water signs and they will have us take a huge loss rather than speak up or appear what they deem as confrontational. Or even do sneaky things behind the scenes like change the costs for materials on a job after it’s already been quoted to the customer. The lengths that they will go to to avoid confrontation can be maddening. On the other hand my boss is a Sagittarius and he can be a bit much to the other extreme. It’s a delicate balance.

Any introverts here? Are you in a job dominated by extroverts? How do you cope?
The reason I ask is my team was consist of the following signs when I joined the business: Aries manager, 2 Libras, a virgo and 2 Geminis and needless to say, the environment was amazing. It was grounded. We are friends and absolutely love each other and trust each other. Very little self promotion. We just get things done.
However, over the last 2 years, the team has changed. Manager moved on for her own personal growth and sanity, both Libras left, virgo got fired and the other gemini got fired as well. In my team now, there's only me (gemini), another gemini who I absolutely love working with and then an Aries manager and a sag. Now.. The environment has turned into a highly political enviroent with lots of self promotion and not to mention, passive aggressive comments, rude jokes mostly started by the 2 fire signs. Not to say I'm no fun. I like having fun at work too. Just not as intense as these two who dominates every fucking meeting and almost the entire slack channel. And quite honestly, it also feels that because they are so loud, people are either afraid of them or like them thinking they are very confident people even if their performance says otherwise.
I'm not enjoying my work environment anymore because of this. How would you cope in this environment?

Omnivert here.
I really only talk about things I know about and passionate about. As well as jokes.
I don't fight to put my 2 cents in. I just add to the conversation when I have something useful to say.
If I had a better social life I'm sure I wouldn't care as much. If this is the case for you, start there.
This scenario sounds familiar to me, especially:
"people are either afraid of them or like them thinking they are very confident people even if their performance says otherwise."
If you feel things are starting to becoming toxic and your own performance is suffering because of it(rely on this to do your job), move on while you can still get a good reference. And before you are forced too.
The other option is to take more responsibility getting things done and slowly taking over. Get promoted and do things the right way.
I choose niether back then and suffered for it. Lol don't do that.click to expand

Is it an introvert vs extrovert issue?
People might have been fired for a reason?
Also, are you talking about obnoxious people? Introverts can be that way too.

I'm trying to put more control over my side of the business now. Truthfully, I never wanted to. But some of their ideas are ridiculous that I just could not stay quiet and say yes.
For example, Aries manager wanted us to do business development. It's a great idea. Don't get me wrong. However, that is not our job. We have BDM's in our firm who are supposed to be doing the business development themselves. They have that kpi. Our job is to close that deal once they have signed the client. Otherwise, if we do end to end, we will only be punishing ourselves because the partners actually get a massive bonus per deal which we are not entitled to. So I straight up said no because we do almost everything already. Its not really out job to do it. Another time, the manager said we should proactively talk to founders, ceo's etc even if we have nothing to offer them. Just do actual chat. Its a great idea. However, we don't operate like that. We are not doing work on a contingent basis. We are always and forever retained by our clients. That means that we will be wasting our time and the founders and ceo's time if we have nothing to offer them. So I asked to refine that project more.
Me in the past would not care to make such inputs. But I feel if I don't it will work against me.click to expand

Lol don't do that.
Otherwise, if we do end to end, we will only be punishing ourselves because the bdm's actually get a massive bonus per deal which we are not entitled to.
But I feel if I don't it will work against me.
That is all very solid.
It sounds like your manager is trying to standout and do more productivity wise.
I suggest modifying his suggestions. Any suggestions along those lines that would improve performance of your department and/or stream line your relationship with the other departments?
For instance anything that you see can be changed with BDM that would improve your departments stats?
It sounds like you have a solid head on your shoulders and understand your job and department. Utilize this and step up a bit. Coronate with your manager to do this.
Trust me, there will be growing pains and uncomfortable at first but it will make your life easier over time.click to expand

He is. And I understand that. When you're new and you want things to workout, you really need to step up. Regarding the business development bit, I told him if I have a lead, I usually send it to the bdm's to chase up. And I suggested that we continue to do that. We need to give the bdm's the opportunity to do their job otherwise we are competing with their role than actually complimenting them. With reaching out to ceo's I suggested that we pass it on to our media team. We have a team who actually makes content interviewing ceo's and that can establish relationships. It's a win win because its press for the ceo's especially those looking for funding and it's a network for us. I also suggested that we refine building the database. Like segment it a bit more. He gave very wide sint ructions to the staff who will do it and the staff might get overwhelmed which is what I have experienced in the past when I did it. I take his ideas and I suggest better ways to refine it. Believe me, I'm trying to be collaborative. I think what puts me off is just the self promotion between him and the sag lady. It really makes me cringe wahahaha. I'm so bad 😢click to expand

I get it.
That's their deal, and thier way of contributing or elevating themselves in the team.
"What ever floats your boat but doesn't sink mine" comes to mind here.
Basically, So long as it doesn't blow back on you lol
From your descriptions, I wouldn't be surprised if the marketing department would be a better fit for them considering thier style .
Lol Annoying. Obviously your handing pretty well tho👍click to expand
