My mother died five years ago and my Dad died back in April so I have adopted their cat. She is kind of cute but has always been fairly neurotic even for a cat and it seems to be getting worse. She was originally from an animal refuge so presumably had a bad start in life (I don't know the details though). When I used to visit my Mum and Dad's house I would say that I was the one who gave her the most affection and attention so it seemed obvious that I should adopt her. Anyway after settling in we seemed to go through a kind of "honeymoon period" when she used to sleep on my bed at night etc. and it was very cute. But since then she has pooped as couple of times where she shouldn't have done and I shouted at her and chased her. That was a while ago but she still seems more paranoid than she ever has been and the situation now is that she spends 99% of her time outside, just coming indoors (in a paranoid way) to eat then going right out again. How can I regain her trust?

... "look at me now! I'm pissing up your carpet sucka and there aint nothin you can do about it!!" ...

1. your whole story was so amazing. thanks for sharing.

2. Could it be that OP's cat is traumatized cause his dad is not there any more?

3. When I read descriptions of people born in the year of Cat I found the word "stubborn" among all. So this must be real that even chinese astrology refers to it.

4. Here something for Entertainment.
