I wish I could say that I had experience with them but I just think they are beautiful. Hope there are some owners or people with stories somewhere on DXP.
🙂
I have a little girl. 🙂
She's very vocal, always making some kind of noise.
Also very stubborn. You can't break that dog. You'll punish her for doing something, and the minute you turn, she'll do it again.
She loves people, but is aggressive with other dogs. She also attacks everything that moves, including shadows and reflections.
She's affectionate and independent at the same time.
Low maint. for the most part...but she sheds alot

Danigurl13, I think she's trying to say:
"Whatever your personality is, the dog will mirror it."
Add to that the fact that any dog will only have as much
discipline as the owner ... and will become master if the
owner has no clue about how to handle a dog properly.
I have known several Shibas. They tend to be aloof with strangers and barky. Their barks are more like high pitched yips than real dog barks. They are very sweet and loving towards their owners. They are not the best dogs for obedience, they will consider what you told them to do and decide if they feel like doing it or not. Very similar in that sense to Siberian Huskies.

I've been reading about Shiba Inus lately and I am very interested about purchasing one of these dogs. A male in particular. I was just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on these beautiful and intelligent dogs? Or share your experiences with Shiba Inus
