Exactly Newbie - the only water I have in my chart is my sun sign in Pisces, I'm mostly air, with a bit of fire and earth rolled in.

Plus I hate making assumptions without knowing the facts, as an auditor that's just who I am.

Me thinks some of you guys think to much, or perhaps I don't think enough. I don't think it's me that she's afraid of, just men in general. She's been hurt by a very abusive eight year marriage and hasn't really been single most of her adult life. Her plan was to just enjoy not having the responsibilty or heartache of a relationship. Now I come along and suddenly her plans are in jeapardy. I understand all of this very well, it's quite simple to me.

The part that I question as I initially stated is if she will force herself to turn off the emotional attachment while keeping the physical. Karma can be a bitch, used to be that's what I was looking for, ain't life grand?

Well from what SSP said it does sound like the latter in this case, maybe she's keeping things as they are till she's in a better place emotionally to take what she may well see as a "risk." She'll probably want to stable herself emotionally first before she enters into anything serious with anyone else.

I would have to say against. I've only met one decent scorpio who is a good friend-female. The rest make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Its something about them that just throws me off.

I think that's a bit narrow-minded klover; if I am going to offer advice or input to someone and I know that I don't have all of the information, I will try to resist the temptation to make sweeping generalizations. Notice that I said I will 'try', I'm not always sucessful, but I do recognize what I have done if someone points it out to me instead of defending my apparently incorrect assesment.

Anyway, the connection you share is typical Pisces/Scorpio. It's very strong emotionally and (especially) physically. At least on your side...but we don't really have her side. We just have your perception of her side, which is not the same thing.

No matter what is in the rest of her chart (I have nothing else in Pisces, for the record) if we truly trust and love someone, we offer no excuses. What she's told you sounds like an excuse to me. Most likely because she's finding it difficult to trust you. This doesn't mean she never will, but you'll have to convince her.

He did say she's just came out of a very abusive 8 year marriage, which sounds like a pretty good reason to me to be cautious - I don't think it's necessarily an excuse, but I agree that she probably is having serious trust issues (and no wonder) so to me it's more of a patience issue, not pushing her and showing her that she can trust you.

I speak from experience, after mine I looked at EVERY man with the same attitude - even if they seemed like the sweetest guy on the planet there was always mistrust and the feeling of "yeah you seem nice now but I bet you're just the same deep down as him" it's tough but with time you get there. If he's serious then he just needs to show (over time) that he's not that man. Personally I'd tread lightly.

Intense indeed, that's a very Scorp heavy chart lol, mind you he has all those earth placements to ground him. Hey there's no air or fire in that chart though! All earth and water.

lol @ MsP I just don't identify with a lot of Piscean traits that's all (and yes that means some of the good as well as the bad!), I've always felt more like an Aqua - then again I'm an early doors Pisces and have a strong Aqua influence in my chart.

I have nothing against being a sun sign Pisces though!

I only said it may help to check because he said he was interested in looking at sun sign characteristics and seeing how she matched against them - and if he's going to do that he may as well look at the bigger picture (astrologically speaking) that's all.

You say the nicest things newbie, it's been a while since I received a compliment like that, lol. Yeah, that was me in a different life, each relationship yields lessons though, isn't that the purpose of each one that ends?

I'm being quite patient I think; she likes to carry on conversations with me on the phone and someone else next to her, there was a time when I would have hung up on that level of inattentiveness. Learning her seemingly carefree and absent-minded personality is a challenge though.

SSP you can get a free compatibility reading from those sites I suggested earlier. You could also post both sets of data on the astrology board, there are a few people on DXP who are really good at reading charts, PringLeo seems to be pretty on the ball.

Well I've already given mine, if she was in an abusive relationship before then it will take her time before she's emotionally ready to commit again.

Yup, time is probably what she needs most. I sense her emotions ebbing and flowing, as though she wants to see my reaction before continuing, perhaps a sub-conscious test. The first and only relationship after her marriage resulted in her being with a controlling jack ass. I'm probably just up against the damage left by those before me.
