The artist is in question here.

A real artist isn't in fear of how it is received ..... real art doesn't work that way, therefore this isn't an artist, rather a random person with a camera.

P Angel I understand how critiques can make an artist feel stripped naked and brainwashed or forced into conforming to guidelines of art. BUT with digital art when a person is looking for CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms it is usually to improve their own techniques. I personally don't think she is looking for our opinions on her message so much as our opinions on her execution.

That being said... Miss Pisces-pieces this is what I see. You don't have to listen but I just finished school in this particular field and have a trained eye forced by conforming to professional techniques before being told to "DO MY OWN THING." *sigh*

There are some grainy images, they are not pixelated but the Taurus image looks almost like it... did you put any filters on these pictures? They aren't pixelated at all but the grainy images I noticed are Taurus, Leo, and Virgo... they look almost like they were scanned (because of the vertical lines in the images). I love the use of that beautiful clock as the introduction to your piece. The quotes are wonderful and the movement that it creates for the eye as you scroll through them are effective as well. You obviously worked hard and I love it. Are you binding this into a booklet? And have you gone to school for this? If you haven't and need some printing pointers to keep the quality of the images true to how you intend them to look just pm me and I can help you out if you'd like.

Good luck.

I just read your response... so you aren't trained in it at all. Kudos girl! KUUUDOOS! I took an analog class as well.. I have a very old Nikon camera from 1977 which inspired me to do so. Lots of fun, but very tedious and time consuming. So these were all taken with an analog camera and scanned? Good job, best quality is always with a digital camera that has a nice lens though. Keep going, you really have potential.

Thanks for the font.

thank you for your words viva! yes, i definitely pride myself in not having any former training, but that can also be a downfall. i started off with an auto canon and then moved on to an analog nikon, and then a minolta as well as a pentax. i'm an absolute 35mm film junkie, and i love love love grain. i pretty much got them developed and scanned at a photolab (thats why some of them are crappy scans) because i haven't taught myself how to develop my own film yet.. which i will eventually. but i don't think i'll really get into digital with my work. i'll end up getting one just because but not for work.

i got my sister into it too. i concentrate more on the portrayal of dreams, thoughts and ideas of people, places and things. she does a good job at focusing on objects (shes the cappy in the project series, go figure!) she's working with an auto, and would like to eventually go into digital. we both rely on natural sunlight so its tough sometimes. but we're always up for a challenge.

i plan on turning it into a little coffee table book for the eleven people that contributed and maybe eventually sell if there are requests.

here is the link again for those who are asking: http://kneeseepoo.blogspot.com/2009/10/i-am-officially-exhausted-so-i-cannot.html<BR>
make sure to click the link within the post that directs you to my flickr account. thats where the rest of the images are! thanks a million everyone for your comments! i appreciate them so!

claro! thank you a lot! i really wanted to show how much character each individual sign had, whether it be a flaw or not, that it should be embraced. i have linda goodman to thank for that.. her books are pretty much the reason why i created this project. she shows so much positive beauty in her writing. i tried to make sure that each quote and description i picked, would be portrayed through the photograph as well.

you should pick up "love signs" or "sun signs" if you haven't already!

It sure would be nice to live in a world where people had the ability to comprehend.

You presented yourself here with first the op that is hidden and then a following up stating your insecurity and uncertainty about the reception of this because you thought you were unable to handle any responses other than what you want ....

My response to you was addressing this insecurity as being the reason why .. IF you fail as an artist, then this is why .... because of your own energy being one that lacks confidence in yourself enough to be able to handle any receptions of your art that you aren't willing to entertain.

Why you (and others) would deem that as negative, I've no clue .. for it's the only constructive criticism you'll ever need to be successful.

i decided to take the link down, bc i take my art seriously and would like to share it with people who could appreciate it for what it is. if you're interested, feel free to PM me for the link! xo

If you actually thought what I said was against you in some way ... then you're deluded into thinking on shallow planes only.

When you get depth .. you'll be able to understand me .. until then, you may continue being in "fear" of what someone might say to you.

Just because a person thinks they look for one thing, doesn't negate the fact that it's what they arne't looking for is what they usually need.

I couldn't care a less about her art, nor should I ... rather she should, and that was my point.

You may feel free to address the exact question she asks if you so choose .. while I will look at a deeper level than just the material. Her work is unchallenged, simple .. and this has nothing to do with pixels, lighting, angles .. it has to do with her.

A passionate artist doesn't hide their work, as she tried to do ... first, she has to believe she is an artist, then she will be one .. and only then.

Ok P Angel you're right about one thing.. she shouldn't give a flying S-H-I-T about what others have to think or say about her artwork in order to be able to embrace her gift and then be free to convert her imagination into a concrete creation. She should just throw it out there and be like THIS IS ME TAKE THAT IN YOUR MOUTH YOU FOOLS! That's not as easy as it looks though.

This is just what artists do... we look for opinions. I honestly believe half of the reason that we look for critiques is the high in which we experience. This may be the reason why artists are known to dabble with alcohol and drugs... to recreate that feeling. When people love what you have created.. I mean... creating something out of nothing!!!! It's an absolutely amazing feeling. It's a person coming out of their shell... what you are pushing her to do is something that she will have to develop, not something that just happens unfortunately... well usually.

To be 100% honest... you are very critical and that is why people get so defensive. I don't know if you are an artist, or ever were one, BUT one's art is a very.. VERY personal thing. It is hard for some people to share it... and although I know what you mean and agree with you, I don't think its necessary to get so annoyed and act as if no one but you has the ability to comprehend things, because you choose to answer a question nobody ever asked you. You really shouldn't act surprised.

Thats just my take...

If a person speaks in public .. then it's a question asked.

It wasn't me who had to be coaxed into giving the link .. it was her.

That means a million times more than the art does ..... in terms of expressing.

Art is suppose to be an extension of the self .... the self in this case, has to be drawn out. One has to pull to get expression.

If you cannot comprehend what I am suggesting than I question you as an artist as well.

Here's the thing ... she wants to hear applause only for her art. That is all she wants. That doesn't help her as an artist .. that simply makes her feel good about doing something.

What she needs is to conditioned as an artist because anybody could buy a camera and snap photographs. To own a camera and take pics isn't being an artist .. it's being a person with a camera.

You, as well as others, may address to her ways to make her presentation better, like oiling a machine .. and she can present this to others to get even better pats on the back for owning a camera.

Meanwhile .... I realize that an artist doesn't lurk inside of her .. maybe one day, not yet.

Oh P Angel... you can question me as an artist if you'd like. I could try to but just don't give a screaming orgasm about that. I share my art with people I can make money off of it... stopped with the public display thing in fear of people stealing my shit. I show my close friends as well as people I look up to.

I fear the - c u n t s - that lurk in the shadows waiting to ride someone else's coat-tails.

It is what it is.

Have a nice weekend Fishies.

my only concerns are people misusing and abusing the photos. i don't think anything anyone could say (whether good or bad) would change my views on this project. i stand firmly on what i create. viva is right- it is really hard to share things that you've worked hard on for people so openly. but it was made to be seen, and this is my point. the people in the project are dear to me and i'm not very familar with the people who lurk around this message board, therefore- may just do what viva said they would. you can question my character all you want, but this is the internet. so who cares! (oh my bad, you do obviously)

but thank you all for your comments! both good and bad. i take them all the same!

Hey, I just scrolled down to Libra, and as I read, I was wondering, are these blue shirted sillies your enemies? You need not insult them so artistically. They like climbing trees, but it does not make them unsure of what they are. Further, blue does not like being biased against. Universally, blue represents calm and not the indecision you portray.

But still, me likes your site. Very pretty, but there's just this little beep in the libra catalogue. he gals who posed for the pics may not like it very much, I say 😛

thank you feisty!

lol spica! the quotes are from "through the looking glass" and "peter pan." linda goodman chose them for every chapter for each sun sign and pairing and i found that particular quote for the libra&libra relationship. i picked it way before i shot the photo, and i thought it was funny that it fit. i actually talked to the twins just yesterday and they loved it. i love libras for the life of me, and i happen to think of them as sillies but of course in a good way! 🙂 thank you for looking!

And btw .. if this comment was directed at me ..

"you can question my character all you want, but this is the internet. so who cares! (oh my bad, you do obviously)"

... then again, I will point something out to you.

I wasn't questioning your character ... YOU were questioning your character when you decided to hide your expression via your photos .. I was merely pointing this out to you.

Try to wrap the message of that ^^^^^^ for what it is.
