Virginity?

What Does Being a Virgin Mean in Astrology?

In astrology, virginity often symbolizes purity, innocence, or new beginnings. It is not considered good or bad but reflects personal values or cultural beliefs. Understanding individual perspectives on virginity varies widely and is influenced by personal and societal factors. It is a personal choice and has different meanings across different contexts.

Every time I read a post I see virgin comments and while some are hilarious, some are just plain weird and make no sense to me. Do you people think being a virgin is bad or what is it you think of when you hear or read the word 'virgin'?

p.s. I just like asking random questions because my mind works in weird ways and wants to know odd things.

I don't understand, why are girls so scared of others finding out they're virgins. Throughout history virgins have been idolized while sexually active women have been considered prostitutes (not my opinion!), so why do women so desperately want to impress guys by having sex? I'm definitely more impressed by someone who's 18+ and still virgin.

I can understand a guy doesen't want anyone to know he's a virgin, men are suppose to be the "active" party, and I don't care how politically incorrect that sounds.

Virginity is only cute and cuddly if you are 20 and under or devoutly religious, otherwise I'm not impressed by a grown adult virgin.

i wonder this...do guys keep up with the number of how many "virginities" they have taken...

I would say an average guy "deflowers" between 1 to 3 women in his lifetime, the rest of them need to stop lying. So you see, it's not that we're keeping a track, it's just that keeping a track isn't very difficult when you can count it on one hand.

I've never "made a woman" out of anyone either... but ever since I hooked up with a 32 year old at 21, I've preferred older women that actually know a thing or two about what they're doing.

But am I the only one who finds the idea of virginity (at the very least) antiquated or (at worst) outrightly oppressive to women?

I'm 28 and still a virgin and I swear I am so embarrassed by this fact. I think I've stayed a virgin so long because I'm too scared to have to tell a guy I'm still a virgin at this late age.

Sex doesn't make you a man or a woman. Being a virgin is not a bad thing in my eyes. It means you most likely don't have an STD which is good.

Virginity is a hymen it does not make the person. People are virgins for different reasons.
You can not make a woman a woman by taking her virginity. A woman is mentality not sex.
Does it really make a difference if a woman is a virgin or not?

cappygolightly yes you are correct virginity is important to some cultures more than others. For a woman it means she chose who she wants to give it to and for a man I suppose it means something as well. When i wrote my statement it was towards the cultures that do not look at virginity in traditional ways. Don't misunderstand that I do not value virginity. It is existent for a very important reason. Having said that my reason was to say that being a virgin at 22 28 or even 30 is not a bad thing. A person should not be ashamed to be a virgin. This just says that a) the person has not found anyone to share that part of them with b) Timing was off to have sex and they are waiting for the situation where it is right for them c) No one was worth having sex with. Some women will not jump on the sack just to loose virginity.

FishyFish don't be embarrassed that you are a virgin. If it is right for you to be a virgin at this time then that is how your life is supposed to play itself out. The people who should be embarrassed are the ones who sleep with anyone who has a dick. That is a serious problem.

LOL, reading Violet previous post made me think, "Why do we have hymens in the first place?" Then I thought about most items in the grocery store that say, "Don't use if seal is broken." LOL

Its kinda interesting/disturbing that someone, especially a woman, is embarrassed by her virginity. Sign of the times.

I think the general breakdown of what we as men an women fundamentally value, especially the value we place on our individual selves, is the cause of the horrible dynamic we see between men and women in our daily lives as well as through the forum posts here on DXP and other sites.

It's so funny that I'm embarrassed by my virginity, but other cultures really value it.

why would you be embarrassed?

Because I'm 28 - I'm not young. If I was even 24 or so I think it would be OK. Even though it would be deceptive, if I could possibly fake not being a virgin with a boyfriend I would, because it's really not socially acceptable. I am still a virgin at this age, because in my teenage years I was very shy and didn't want to be with anyone I didn't love and then from 19-24 I was in and out of hospital most of that time with anorexia and depression, so I wasn't losing my virginity then and then 24-28 I was travelling a lot with my work and never had a relationship. It's a good example of how life can sometimes get in the way of normal development. There is a new guy that I like and when we were still friends I told him that I was a virgin, even though my very best female friends don't know (I would be way to embarrassed to tell them), because I wanted the guy to know what he was getting himself into.

Funny thing is that I wasn't holding out for marriage or anything.

Why would someone be embarrass of being a virgin? I don't get it.

The thing is I personally don't care that I'm a virgin, but I care a lot about what other people think. I know it's not good, but that's how I feel. I would feel really embarrassed for even my close female friends to know. People think if you're a virgin at this age, there is something really wrong with you mentally.

I think I'm going in your direction fishy....except for the anorexia. And people do say stuff like that, I just verbally assault them and make them shut up. They mostly stay shocked because I actually talked.....

start advertising your virginity....

you will have guys all over you... all wanting to take it from you..

I'm unclear why you have put so much importance over your sexual virtue, Angie.

Is it suppose to mean something special?

I would want a guy to want me for me .. if they only want me because of being a virgin, then that negates wanting me for me.

Your friends don't care whether you are a virgin or not .. they care about having some drama to gossip about. YOu say you care what people think .. and seriously, people rarely even think, Angie, they just react.

If they actually thought .. our world would be worth saving, we would be giving our children a place to love to live, not a place to fight over to hate.

People don't think at all.

Be who you are and say what you feel ..... because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

I was just asking curiosity based questions. And I never said I cared in what they said. It just gets annoying when they don't shut up about as if saying everyone has to do because they do. You just wanna choke them and throw them off a bridge

I think Pisceans are extremely intelligent people. They do not mingle with society very well for lots of reasons. Call it intuition or whatever but it definitely has its own place. Pisceans are usually confused by why they don't adhere to social standards because majority do. However, as the time passes, we all understand that it is society that is in wrong place, not we. It takes time to learn it and I understand that it is a frustrating experience until you get there. But I believe it worth more at the end what we have than what we have not.

Agreed

I feel proud to be a virgin.

What purpose is this pride for?

Pride is usually associated with accomplishments ... do you feel like it has been an accomplishment to remain a virgin? Like, it was some sort of acheivement?

Because all you really had to do to succeed at it is be born.
