Cap Man

I'm a Leo. He's a Capricorn. Together 10 months. All aspects of our relationship are great.....except....communication.

I'm out going and talkative. A people person. Emotional. Need and expect attention from him. I express my love openly. I would do anything for him and he knows it. We have both been hurt by our ex spouses. Both betrayed in the worst of ways. It has left me with trust issues, my self confidence shaken and my faith in my ability to judge other's character in the toilet.
He is not only a Cap, but an engineer. He thinks anilitically. He needs quit time to himself. Is reserved, yet has a crazy, spontaneous fun side. He loves me and talks commitment but has not totally made one either. He has a soft emotional side (can cry easily at something sad or sentimental). Although he can verbally express his love for me he is not a great communicator! We have many misunderstandings because he is pretty blunt and has hurt my feelings. He doesn't seem to understand how hurtful he can be. I know he isn't doing it intentionally and we have talked about it. If he needs time alone, no matter how much I try, I do tend to take it as 'he needs time away from me'.
This man is the best thing that has ever happened to me and he tells me the same.
Is there any hope for a successful relationship for two so different personalities? I am willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.

So you understand that he needs time alone...and yet still choose and decide to make it about you.

That's selfish...maybe you should work on finding hobbies or something to keep you occupied.

Once you stated you were aware of the problem but still chose to be self centered...you decided the fate of the relationship

No he is not abusive in any way whatsoever. Just the opposite .... Thoughtful and kind.
I'm sure it is my ego. I think he sees me as an ignigma too. It's the opposite personality traits that I think attract us to each other. He is what he is and I'll take him like he is. It will take a fair amount of adjustment for me.
I was married many yrs to a Leo. We clashed in other ways, but interesting enough I didn't vie for attention with him or from him. I let him have the limelight when we were together. He also lied and manipulated me for years and I didn't have a clue. Neither did our friends and relatives. Which is why I think I am looking for reassurance in this relationship.

Yeh the more info the better... It all plays a part. That's something I've learned here, actually.

I see Leo's as needy for attention.
You guys take things too personally and think its,about you when it's not. Give space, don't demand constant attention, don't take the bluntness to heart.

For what it's worth, I think he cares for you
