I have read a lot about planets in houses lately and they always say a great sign for marriage is someone who has planets in the same sign as your 7th house (the descendant).

My descendant/7th house is in Gemini but I am not attracted to geminis. They can be fun as friends but nothing more. I've never been attracted to or ever even spent much time with a gemini male of any male with gemini placements (I can only think of one person I vaguely know with gemini planets other than sun).

I don't know wether it's because I already have my moon/venus in gemini/7th house so I have enough gemini. I don't desire it from anyone else. Any geminian traits I want I have and can provide in the relationship - anymore from anyone else would be too much.

Anyone else feel like this, where they're supposed to be attracted to a certain sign but already have a lot of it in their chart so they don't really want anymore of it?

I get the feeling I'm not attracted to geminis because I have strong Gem placements anyway. My moon and venus are in my 7th making me want an emotional/romantic relationship moreso than a geminian one. I think it's the panets in the house more than the sign for me.

And any gemini traits I want in a relationship I can bring myself. If soemone else brought the same things it would be so boring.

This is very true, your descendant basically means anyone/any sign with these characteristics in an intimate partner which you may be attracted to. It doesn't neccessarily mean someone born into that exact sun-sign (though you certainly can be), but for many would be too limiting and simplistic due to other chart factors. I was never attracted to Scorpio (my 7th house cusp), as a full-fledged SUN sign, however i do like a certain intensity, passion and sexxiness that is scorpionic by nature, but certainly not other scorpio traits which would be in excess and go against the airy lightness and natural ease of my Aqua stell. Just enough, but not too much. So other planetary energies/aspects in a partner's chart can accentuate certain desired traits of the DSC, not just the sun.

Planets contained (inside) the 7th & any aspects-to are also very* important and telling, so one should always explore (both) energies. Aside from specific synastry aspects, the biggest planetary drivers for attraction imo, are the Dsc 7th-planets inside, Mars & Venus. Also, the Decendant will likely have influence on what you naturally attract -> in a partner. So a Libra Riser may naturally attract a very strong, energetic, decisive type person in-return (or even further in many regards bring out such 7th H traits by association in other close/additional type partnerships.. I know when i am around a Libra riser, i do feel and react to such a person with somewhat more impulsiveness, assurity and decisiveness (rather Aries-like). It's like that old cliche, "you bring out the _blank in me."

I find the DSC is very interesting & influential, yet comparitively not given the importance it should have.

Scorpio on the cusp of the Seventh House (Descendant): Scorpio is a sign that acts as a vehicle for transformation. Relationships do not reflect the romantic idealism of Libra, the unbridled fun and passion of Leo, or the light-heartedness of Gemini, when Scorpio rules the Descendant. Partnerships are experienced with intensity but are also processes for deep and profound change. Taurus, which is a highly conservative sign, is on the Ascendant. It is a sign of tremendous fixity and one which avoids letting go of people, things or its life values. Scorpio is the sign of death, transformation and hence, of change. Although Scorpio is also a fixed sign, its placement on any cusp of a house guarantees that personal resistance notwithstanding, release and (potential) renewal will be definitely —in the stars.?? Thus partnerships lived through the lens of Scorpio will challenge the stability that this Taurus-rising person, seeks so fervently to create. Yet the successful victory over these crises will bring even greater material and emotional wealth into one's life. Even though the path of relationships has its definite share of challenges with this sign/cusp combination, Scorpio on the Seventh promises an ever-growing, ever-evolving opportunity in relationships.

my Descendant is Aquarius, I've always felt a strong attraction to Aqua guys. When I first started getting into astrology and I read about the significance of the descendant vs. compatability/attraction, it rang a bell for me.. As most of the guys I've liked had Aqua suns, and I find myself attracted to Aqua mooners as well. Never met an Aqua rising guy, atleast not to my knowledge! I find the attraction is mutual.. must be the Leo Rising (opposites attracting) and my Aries moon and Gemini mercury of course no doubt help. I've had a couple close Aqua friends (girls) and I just love em, a little aloof and detached in their own world, but always there for you when it counts. As for the guys, I find we make better friends in the long run.. as my Taurus sun and Taurus venus clash with the Aqua way of life.. I love freedom too but I need that closeness as well (Cancer mars) and most of the time they just don't deliver in the emotional department. I'd prolly need an Aqua with a Pisces, Cancer or Taurus moon.. somewhere along those lines, with a Pisces venus if it were to be anything long term.

Hmmm..... Very interesting. My DSC is Leo and my Moon, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Juno & Pluto are all in my 7th House. Moon, Sun, Venus & Juno are all in Leo and Pluto and Mercury are in Virgo.

I'd have to say that this is quite intriguing to me. I can definitely see where Leo characteristics would be a natural attraction for me. I love the energies of the Fire signs and tend to attract them and vice versa. I have a lot of Leo's in my life. Most of them are only friends, but they are extremely close friends in which I share a deep affection for.

Maybe DSC is not so stupid after all?
