Does Aquarius Guy Like Me?

There's this Aquarius guy I've known for five years. We've talked some, and we jam quite a bit together. I've tried having regular conversations with him, but he's always just so hard to talk to, so I just stopped trying because I felt like I was forcing it. We do still have little chats, but otherwise he pretty much acts as if I don't exist most the time.
But I've seen him with other girls and he acts totally different.
A mutual friend of ours (who he knows I talk to all the time) chatted with him on texting, talking about setting up dates. He brought my name up not in a good light, and later i asked him about it n he completely changed the story. My mother thinks he was trying to feel out our friend cuz he's jealous.
I'm a Scorpio and am a little frustrated that I can't read him.
Any help with what I do would be great.

You'd be able to have a conversation with him at the very least. I've known many aqua men and i've seen how they act when they dislike someone, and this is basically how.

Something must have happened for him to act like this. I would honestly not think about it any more and move on. You are reading him, you just don't want to admit to yourself what he's "saying".

I would honestly, stop reaching out to him and if he does initiate contact, don't reply right away, keep it light and friendly.
