How long does it take to get over your first love?

All I want is closure, I have never had problems moving on on top of that, this person treated me pretty badly. It took them a year and five months to give me a long overdue apology. I just want the emotions about them to go away, will they ever?

give yourself time to get over it and heal. being focused in getting rid of those feelings will do nothing in your favor.

You get over them when you meet someone new who makes you forget about them. That has been my experience. You never forget them tho, if you do then it wasn't really love. I still think about my first love and then I remember what an ass hole he was and then he is gone from my mind again. lol

That is true, but she must also remember to not try to replace that voice with someone new too quickly. Time heals all wounds, and it must take its course. Doesnt mean wait forever, but allow at least some private time.
