Leo Woman/Aquarian Male

Ok, so I'm dating an aquarius. And he is totally insecure about the relationship. In fact, he says he is scared of getting hurt again (apparently the ex was pretty mean). However, it's to the point now where nothing I say is right and he says that everything I do say is argumentative and mean. While I admit I can be a bit overbearing and bossy, I certainly do not see myself as mean. I'm at my wits end with this and we haven't even been dating very long, about a month and half. Any advice on how to handle this? Or him for that matter?
