Same yet different

It is so strange to visit family and realize how much you really are like them. The things you see that they do that just drive you crazy turn out to be the things that you actually do yourself. I found this when visiting my grandparents and my grandmother did something that was like holding a mirror in front of my face. I don't think you really understand your bad habits until you can actually see them from the point of view of the poor people who have to endure you 🙂 You think that you are so different from your family for such a long time, but then when you have those close ties, there is no way to deny the connection. So I guess knowing is half the battle....

LOL... i know what ur talkin about... i sometimes am amazed how much im like my leo dad..... but im definitely not like my cancer mom....i dont whine and complain 24/7 nor do i sit, get depressed and give up on myself 🙂

Kinda makes me think about the whole nature vs nuture thing- I mean- I have more personality traits that mirror my grandparents than my parents- and I did spend a lot of time with my grandparents when I was little. Crazy how these realizations don't come to you until much later in life....
