Today...

is my dads birthday. He passed on over 20 years ago, but I never cease to think of him. Growing up he was a good father. He taught me to ride a bike. He took care of me when I was sick. He taught me to respect people and demand it back. He talked to me about female menstrual cycles (lol). He spoiled me rotten. He was an active PTA parent. I always did well in school and he would praise me each and every time. He was patient with me (usually lol)He taught me so many things that I still carry with me today. He always told me he love me and loved me with every fiber of his being. He died when I was 15 and with that my whole world came tumbling down. The things I was once sure about ceased to exist. My security blanket was gone. I was lost without him. It took me a long time cope with his passing, but now I am thankful I was able to have my father in my life for that time.

Yep, daughters are good to have. Mine called this morning to sing Happy b-day, and there's no one else I would have rather heard from.
