the planets

Hey, I'm pretty new to astrology. I recently googled up all of my planets and read descriptons. I need a little clarification tho; my sun is in cancer but my venus and mercury r in gemini. Does this mean I'm compatible with signs like aries or sag because of those planets? My bday is june 21, as you know, the cusp. I know the main planets are sun and moon and then ascendant also mainly contributes to personality. Are mars mercury venus and jupiter just as important? From ur personal experience, do your planets affect ur relationships and approaches towards life? Or is it only sun moon and rising? Please clarify, thaaanks 🙂

yeah I understand that and have been on cafe astrology. I'm asking about the level of importance the planets have and the impact of the planets on a person. My sun is in cancer but my venus mercy and jupiter are so much different than my sun. So how do all these differences mesh? If my venus (planet of love) is in gemini, and my mars (sexual approach) is in virgo...how does that work? Love and sex are similar...but my approaches are different?
