I noticed that the vast majority of threads about relationships are looking for help. This one said something that is making thier S/O crazy. Why does she cut me in my sleep? Why did he sleep with my mother and my sister... at the same time? You know what I am talking about... Anyway, I wanted some positive energy flowing around!

Have a great date recently? Tell us about it!

Meet a special person this weekend? Were they 'helmet special' or 'gold star special'?

I live in rural South Carolina, it is a small area around here. I go to this local bar sometimes where they have cheap drinks and a lot of people just there to relax. It's not a sports bar or college scene place, it's got a nice laid back feel even with music blasting. There's a few bikers, some office workers, housewives, grandmom's... all kinds of people go there. They play some dance music and get people moving on the floor then it'll switch over to karaoke, back and forth all night.

Anyway, I saw the single greatest karaoke performance of my life this weekend. This 40 something skinny black guy gets up on stage looking unsure of him self. He had his hair slicked back and a pale orange dress shirt with white pants. Then the music starts... it is Kiss by Prince.

I haven't had any dates recently since I'm in a relationship, but my boyfriend and I are doing really well. : )
We argue sometimes, but always make up and go back to loving each other. We'll have been together for two years this month. He's my first love and the only guy I have felt an instant connection with. I know I'm not the easiest person, so everytime he says loving things to me, I remember how much I appreciate and love him.

We actually met in gym class. We were playing volleyball and I noticed this guy motioning for me to smile. Haha. I didn't know why he was talking to me, and I thought he was kind of weird. Just because I'm not smiling doesn't mean I'm unhappy, you know? So, obviously, he wasn't the brightest out there. ; ) He was also really popular and I was the type who seemed to blend in to the background, which made me even more confused. After that, we started talking more, though. I remember the first time he came over, he brought a remote control car. What a dork. Then, he asked me to prom, all formal-like, with my mother there. I wasn't sure about this guy yet, only because I didn't want to be in a relationship. I said yes, though. That prom was actually when I felt myself fall in love with him. I remember when we became a couple, also. We were sitting in front of Barnes and Noble, and I had to ruin a potentially romantic asking-out by saying "So, are we together?" He said he wanted to wait for the right time and ask in a romantic restaurant, all formal and stuff, but I didn't give him the chance. Hah. Ever since then, we've been together. I hope it will stay that way for a while. : )

It's not anything that happened recently, but I figured it was a pretty positive post about a relationship, soo..

Pff.."Americans", so uncivilized πŸ˜›

Not only are they damn healthy and nutritious, ever since I quit caffeine, this is what I eat in the morning for a good shot of energy πŸ™‚ FUCK coffee.

I mean, how do you politely remove a rock from your mouth?

that is just abnormal.

So you would consider it abnormal to eat entire meals with only your bare hands too (like they normally do in several countries), just because your little "American bubble" tells you its "abnormal" πŸ˜› pfffff, you need to travel more πŸ˜›

Dates and date bread are delicious elle. Just a schmear of good butter or cream cheese. Heaven. πŸ™‚ I love the little goobers in granola too. Oooo good intro for you. Goats cheese piped into the center of a stoned date, wrapped in good bacon, skewered and grilled.

Yes, excellent combinations there VB πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Im sure Ive said this to you before, but I get such a warm feeling when I read your recipe-posts, dunno why.

I also use them to sweeten my self-made almond milk (I quit cow milk a long time ago too)

It is because I care about what I do, it transfers. πŸ™‚ No moo juice for me either sir. I've not had it in some time. Natural date sugars in almond milk sounds fantastic. Everyone should have a herd of nutmeats to milk. They're such gentle creatures.

Hey, I live in Colorado. Why don't you all just swing by, and I can so you some the scenery!!!

And Elle, I don't mean to pile on, but slurping a nice, juicy, sweet peach right off the pit, yummmmm. It doesn't get any better than that....

Yep, the positive is more important than the recent. What's up with that first bolded part though? Tell him to stop slacking and take you on a date. πŸ˜›

By the way, we are all dorks. We love that you are too. The dorky parts are usually the most fun.

isn't it so strange that it's always the most least likely person in the room that has the best showmanship on the karoke stage?

it's so entertaining πŸ™‚

There was also a stereotypical looking biker guy who sang some Barry White. He was NOT what I expected to see when I looked up on stage. I love karaoke and just people watching in general. Oh haha, they have a support pole in the middle of the dance floor too. Of course they painted it neon and it is a stripper pole now (no actual stripping, settle down pervs!). There was this guy all over the pole and his girl was laughing at him. He was waving for her to come join him. She eventually jumped up and did some twirl but he keep on going. She then sent a lady I assume was one of their grandmothers over. She starting shaking everything she had. The guy and granny dirty danced for a minute or three. It was one of the funniest things I have seen in a while. She was pretty spry for her age.
