Do you replace your exs with someone similar?

I find that whenever I'm out of a relationship and I'm starting to look again, I look for the same qualities as my ex.
I was dating this cancer guy and he bashed on me for wanting to go to cosmetology school but to my surprise he's with a girl just as into makeup as me.
I feel like it's the same deal.

I thought interview mode (equivalent to hunting mode) was only a taurus thing. What makes you turn your head you think? That sounds like a gift and curse.

Inadvertently, so I wouldn't call it "replacing" per se.

I think it's fairly normal. We're all attracted to certain characteristics, so it stands to reason that the people we date have a lot of similar aspects. That's likely why we were attracted to them in the first place.

In my case, although those relationships didn't work out, they were all for different reasons. So far, I haven't felt the need to re-evaluate what the "type" I'm most drawn to is.
