Actually, this picture was to depict the minstrel shows that whites had back in slave days. It was all to make fun and satire the black and slave culture.
NOTE: Her white bulging eyes, the pouting of the pink lips, and the black make-up.
I know that it was put to make fun of poo face....but when I saw it, I was like OMG. My natural reaction was to be offended because its such a big part of racism towards black culture but its whatever.
I guess pigeon wasn't aware of the racist implications of the picture.
You can Google "Minstrel Shows" and you will see images and information of the ignorance.

Not ignorance, I know all about the "Mammy" routine, black face, how it was used in theater to perpetuate a stereotype. I'd be hard pressed to have crept through the world for almost 40 years without an education of sorts. I did not see that in the picture. To me it looked like 'Seventeen' mag or any other randomly posed beauty aid shot. It didn't even occur to me to put a racial spin of any sort on it.
I don't think it's disrespect if the woman likes it. My boyfriend, who I am totally in love with, has asked me if he could do this, and I agreed and actually liked it. Whatever floats your boat guys 🙂
