How long were you friends with your SO before dating them?

Just a quick one out of curiosity. If any of you were friends prior to your relationship, how long for?

And who shared their feelings first?

I worked with son’s dad for just under 2 yrs before we got it together.

i once heard somewhere that the longest lasting relationships are based on friendship.

meaning it's hard to make a relationship last with someone you can't even imagine being friends with.

i was friends with s/o for a year...it was long distance but we were talking like every day...it was like back and forth goofy ass texts lol both of us just acting a fool lol we visited each other a couple times during that year.

i was initially the one that approached him but as far as taking things to the next level, he kinda did...

add-on: looking back on ^^this period many years later, i feel bad about how i acted in the beginning...

i had just come out of a long term straight (male/female) relationship, so i was kinda scared to get into something with a dude so i kinda stalled a lot and i still to this day feel bad about how i acted in the beginning and i'm surprised he even stuck around for my slow moving ass.

Nope never friends first.. that just means there isn’t enough there for more.

That's the way I do it. How would you know if you sexually compatible otherwise? Drag dating out too long and it doesn't matter if you male or female, big chance if getting friendzoned or it goes nowhere.

I dont normally do that but with him it was how it happened. We met, went to dinner, came back to his place and next thing I know he is leading me upstairs to his bedroom....I dont even remember how that happened or what he said....fucking Scorpio moons.

Later he told me about a friend who thought they were dating and he told her "have I ever kissed you, held your hand or touched you?" And she was like "no, but that's what you do when you are trying to get to know someone" and he's just like "not me". She was friendzoned and didn't even realize it. 😂
