How to Get Over Being Cheated On?

I was with a guy for 3 years and we already broke up almost 2 months ago. Yesterday I found out he cheated on me some time during our relationship and it feels like all my hurt and wounds have been freshly opened. I didn't want the relationship to end in the first place. I thought I was gonna spend my life with this guy.

This is a new kind of hurt. I feel like a mess. And I feel like an idiot for even feeling this way.

How do you go about getting over something like this?

I don't know if you turned down his proposal or if if it was Mutual but you were not married so technically legally he is a single man exercising his rights.

If after 3 years you two were not married then one of you doesn't feel like they want to spend the rest of their lives with the other. If you felt like you didn't want to spend the rest of your life with him and then it is kind of selfish for you to be upset. If he was the one who felt like he didn't want to spend the rest of his life with you then who cares about what he's doing.

When you and your significant other, married or not, have an agreement on exclusivity and monogamy, you trust them and expect fidelity. When you find out they were unfaithful, IT HURTS. You'd understand that if you weren't emotionally retarded, trying to bring law into the conversation to convince the OP they shouldn't feel bad. I mean, that is beyond butt stupid.

In my eyes, women cheat a hell of a lot more than men ever do. In fact, women cheat daily, from my perspective of what cheating means.

So, until you define cheating (since it's not apparent across the board to make claim that it's a generalized meaning) ...... there's no way for every person to agree with you.

OP, just go through the daily motions. Go to work. Hang out with friends. Take it one day at a time. You might always be lowkey angry at your ex for putting you through what you're going through, maybe you'll be a little skiddish next time you meet someone you're into, but you'll get back on track. You won't be devastated anymore. You won't think about him every day.

It's just a matter of time and focusing as much ad you can on your daily routine. You'll make progress, but you'll have to be patient with yourself.

And remember that sex with horses is still legal in some States.
