Love vs. Compatibility

I'm still coping through a breakup and one thing that has come up over and over again is this idea of love vs. compatibility. I'm still very much in love with this (Virgo) woman and she knows that. Today, after we had a longer conversation and she had offered to hang out again, she shared "sometimes saying I love you means saying goodbye. Sometimes the care is real but the compatibility isn't. And the kindest thing to do is let them find someone who can offer them both".

Maybe my feelings are too detached from my brain, but to me this is just bogus. Nobody is really compatible with anybody. We'll always hit walls with other people at some points in our lives, no matter if friends, family or lovers. It's love that is the key to making it work. This just seems like an excuse to me. A way out that makes you seem like "the nice one" without having to admit to a lack of love as the reason.

How do other people see this?

Nope nope nope. Virgo woman here. I don't make excuses and you'll be hard pushed to try and get me to leave. Once I'm in, I'm in. That could be my Scorpio Venus talking, but that's my opinion anyway.

Virgos make choices instead of deciding to deal with the issues and make it work. I had that happen to me by a Virgo guy a long time ago. That means what ever the problem is - the fight to tackle the problem is too hard for them to deal with. Well was in my case anyway. He admitted it a long time afterwards - 25 years.

That's essentially what I think. She said that she's tired of working on our issues. That I get, but that is fueled by a lack of love in my opinion.

To me, and that's just me, it's difficult to understand how someone can love someone and miss them, but walk away because of some mendable communication issues. It's not in my realm of experiences, so that's why I'm curious. I left most relationships (short or long) because I didn't love the person anymore and was open about that, or if there was a significant loss of trust that was unmendable.

My question to you is why do you allow her to even talk to you. Didn't she dump you?

Don't you have pride?

I wouldn't stick around just to be strung along and confused even more.

Clearly not. I'm both still hung up and trying to rationalize things. Contact is minimal, but I can still see the social media stuff. She offered to hang out sometime. Since she wanted space I've been waiting for her to initiate some of the logistics like splitting a shared contracts that's in her name, exchanging our stuff...
