I like her. And I like her show. I also liked her book. I think she has some great insight. Some things she says can be taken with a grain of salt, but I believe a lot of what she says to be correct, and hilarious. and terribly blunt.
Also, I think it's silly when people bitch about how she is a matchmaker yet is not married. It seems to often be true that some people can be gifted with talents when it comes to others but not nessecarily be great at applying that to themselves. This doesnt make her points when it comes to courting and relationships any less valid. IE professional organizers whom happen to be hoarders in their own life. Or doctors that smoke... Lol. You know what I mean.
Yes, I like her show and I think a new season is about to start I also learn a lot from her show.......
She said on last season a men knows within the first 6mths if he wants to a marry a women I think this is very true....... Not saying you should jump the broom at that moment but the men should know after that time and work towards that and also I feel this applies more to those 25 and older.........
I like directness too, but she is too direct, she could use a little tact.
Also the puffy, fake lips have got to go.
Ummm not sure about her advice, because I'm a woman and some of the things she says about us do not apply to me.
Everyone is an individual...actually I think she speaks a lot of cr*p. I feel like she's a bit of a phony.. There was a matchmaker once on Oprah who was really good...gave more "real" advice w/o the superficialness of Patty. She is maybe a little "too Hollywood" in her advice because that's where she is (or N York) and it's seems like it's all about the millionare's money/success and how someone looks. The men only seem into women that are fake.
I enjoy the N York shows more. and I alway's wondered "If they have that much money and are getting out there and meeting people thru work and whatever..why do they need to come on her show...why haven't they met anyone? I always think that about people that use matchmakers...can't they meet anyone just by being "out there" I know people get busy with work...but still.....
Actually I learned more from "Steve Ward's Tough Love" I wish he was back on...he gives common sense advice for real people. He said "Women should not think we don't want women to call us...we do"
He clarified a lot of the myths about men that are out there and not to mention it, but on here too!!
