Please don't shoot the messenger, but Suncorp Metway, Ltd., a multi-faceted Australian Financial Service, ranked car accident claimants by Sun sign in a study of 160,000 accident claims over the previous three-year period. This is what they found.

The number one worst drivers were Geminis, "typically described as restless, easily bored and frustrated by things moving slowly," explained Warren Duke, Suncorp's national manager of personal insurance. "They had more car accidents than any other sign."

No astrologer would argue with that description of the sign of the Twins and probably this isn't very surprising news. But what about the other signs?


Second and third place holders for this dubious honor are Taurus and Pisces. "Taureans were thought to be obstinate and inflexible, "said Duke," while Pisceans could be risk-takers and daredevils."

Your personal astrologer would offer other explanations. First Taurus. Yes, Taurus can be obstinate and inflexible, but they are also the most introverted and self-absorbed of all the signs. Their natural path in life is to think about their own body -- its immediate comfort and needs -- and to deal with only the most tangible and immediate of realities. Their thinking as drivers may run like this. My stomach is full, the temperature in the car is pretty good, the noise level is good, I'm riding right at 60, I don't have to use the bathroom for at least another hour and there's plenty of gas in the tank. Since freeway driving requires spatial perception and processing of much abstract information (speed, flow and distance), this is counter to their natural way of processing the world around them.

Pisces the Daredevil?

Pisces, in the number three position, is the other sign that lives in a world of its own. Duke describes them as potential risk takers and daredevils. However, there are other signs we would nominate much more readily for a description like this.

Pisces are the gentle dreamers of the zodiac. They may spend many hours a day in fantasy worlds, escaping the painful realities of life on the physical plane and, more often than not, the pain of being in a physical body. They often experience the whole manifest world as an illusion and their presence in it as temporary and of little importance.

This is so me I will see a car driving really fast and just slow down and let him pass me just so I can watch the car get stop by a light and is only one car ahead of me....I will never understand the rush.

Yes P-Angel I have been in about 3 or four car accident, one was a head on that I saw coming and I braced myself for it and when the lady hit me with her freaking van she gets out the car and says "I measured your distance wrong" or something like that. I just looked at her I really want to slap the shit out of her.

Other ones I was hit from behind and won plenty of settelments for it.

I am a very good driving people tell me all the time.

My sisiter (Taurus) she is a parinoid driver I remember one time she was learning how to drive a clutch, and she was on a hill and the light turned red and she hollered out the widow to get the driver behind her to move back because she was going to go back some when she took her foot off the clutch....lol

My other sister (Sag) I will never ride with her she scares the shit out of me she just drives to fast and don't pay any attention to the rules of the road.

My brother-in-law is an aries and it is sometimes scarey riding with him hell even my sister don't like to ride with him her own husband

LOL...No am least bothered. Personally, I have had horrible experiences with Leos. Libras are slightly better. One scorpio was shaky..another was reckless.

For, though, there's no doubting that this statistic has come from a reliable source, however, it is flawed because human experience of us in here has shown the study isn't accurate.

Another example would be the Scorpio, who is suppose to be one of the best according to this study: SL said, "I have been in about 3 or four car accident"

Fault is irrelevant because from what I read that you posted .. this study was done by the amount of accidents per sign .. not circumstances.

Maybe so but If all my accident were not my fault it does not make me a bad driver, I would think the other person would be the bad driver, I was just caught by there actions. Regarless of what sign they are.

oh man ....I know a saggi who is an Excellent driver in normal conditions but has scared the pee water out o'me with road rage antics OMG! Somebody cuts her off or flips a bird and the half animal becomes ALL animal. It's terrifying. Like playing russian roulette with an auto.

I've found .. driving while stoned .. 10 miles per hour seems like 100, and a horrible neck strain can result from constantly checking mirrors and over the shoulder every 2 seconds, also, Ben-gay has to be applied on hands later to soothe the hand cramps from gripping the wheel so tightly.

Man, I can be an awful driver, and I am a Scorpio. I can get so absorbed in my thoughts that I have no idea where I am or how I got there. My family jokes that I should never think and drive at the same time (we have a weird sense of humor). Granted, they also tend to believe that I shouldn't think and chew gum at the same time... Every once and a while, I have this sort of odd absent-minded professor thing going on.

That being said, I do have a Gemini Moon, so maybe that is where my bad driving comes from. Though, I just tend to think of it as a personal flaw, not an astrological one...

Try driving a clutch while high off of weed. Did that one time and lost all memory of how to shift the gears...So I never drove a clutch high again.

Day dreaming while driving I do it all the time after a night out and hung over....I am thinking about the night I had, how tired I am and how I hope this guy calls me. LOL

It is, P-Angel...I have been driving drunk for a long time, hell drinking for a long time.

I can handle that....I always carry water with me.....I never leave the club until my high is at point that I can control it.

I don't drive high because of the high chance of becomeing parinoid while driving and drive off of a dam cliff or something.

I don't know It just does not feel right anymore to drive high off of drugs versus driving while intoxicated.

Driving is very therapeutic...I love it

And have been told I am a very capable and confident driver..(when I wear my glasses)..LOL

Listen, and I know you know this .. there are many paths to travel in this life, and down each one, we find memorable moments to tuck away into our hearts to cherish and be thankful for .. in the end, that's all we really have .. to have 14 wonderful months of beautiful moments is better than having a lifetime of none .. cherish what you had and don't look at what you don't have, for if you do .. your memories will be of resentment and despair ..

Yes we Scorps are defensive in our driving habits. I think we anticipate what other drivers will do and we respond accordingly. We can get quite ticked off when other drivers are vicious and manipulative even antagonistic in their driving habits. You all know who you are.
