Why Do Scorpions Fluoresce Under UV Light

Scorpions fluoresce under ultraviolet light due to compounds in their exoskeleton. This glowing effect helps them detect UV radiation and may also serve as a defense mechanism. The fluorescence is unique to scorpions and is used by researchers to locate them easily in the wild.

Scorpions are believed to be descendants of the ancient Giant Water Scorpion, which were scorpions who were most adapted to water rather than land, and were the size of human toddlers.

Once scorpions have invaded your home, it is extremely difficult to get rid of them unless you squish them on sight. They prefer the dark and any sort of crack or crevice. They are also extremely resistant to all pesticides. In order to guarantee that your home will not be invaded by scorpions, you must get rid of your entire landscape, remove all rocks, illuminate all dark areas and try not to have any wood anywhere.

Young scorpions are more aggressive and likely to attack than older scorpions. The average lifespan of a scorpion is anywhere from 2 years to 8 years, but I read on some website of a reported 30-year-old scorpion. They can also die within weeks of their birth.

Very interesting!

When we were on our motorcycle trip last summer, there was a biker there that had a bright yellow-green bike with Scorpian's mounted all over the tank.

Parallax, you crack me up.

The differences between falling in love and being stung by a scorpion:

- You can get over falling in love
- Getting stung by a scorpion hurts, ouch. But falling in love is all pleasure, baby...even when we sting in the bedroom, just for kicks
- If you get to the hospital quick enough, you probably won't die from a scorpion's sting. But once you've fallen in love with a Scorpio, it's very difficult to find a cure.

😛 Cheesy joke time is over now. 🙂

Yes, falling in love is a pleasure, it's only the falling out of it that stings.

I've never heard of a Stinger, but now I definitely want to try one, because the creme de menthe sounds delish. I've never tried brandy before, though. I enjoy most alcohols though (on occasion of course) so I'm sure I'd like it. lol.

And I'm up for a re-match any time, just for the hell of it.

But what if your a scorpio who's overanalyzes everything even feelings?Whether this is a good time to disagree or am I leaping if I do this, stuff along those lines. He he I feel like a freakin virgo half the time and there isn't any virgo in the emotions department either, got 4 elsewhere but not in the main componates.Oh yeah,if you want to avoid being genarlized here for every single thing a evil scorp man has done, don't try to apply reason and commonplace situations to some of these post,it's a big kick me sign and/or scares off other users by telling them something about them is a negative from thier scorp rising. The virgo, aries and cancer boards are the most for really light hearted chit chatting, right now.
