Hey!

I always hear folks saying that they require honesy in relationships. Truth and Honesty go hand and hand!

My quesion is, how much it too much, if at all?? Scorpios have a tendancy to be very blunt like Sagittarians, but can you go over board and hurt someone and not know it?!! How can I balance the request for truth and honesty and lying and half truths—

My dad use to tell us, if we didn't want the truth then don't ask him for it, because he is gonna give you your answere and sometimes it isn't very pleasant!!! But I have respect for it.

If suppose if you don't want it then don't ask!

Please, any help out here would be appreciated!!!

Susan, I'd have to say your dad was right. I hate the hypocrisy of someoe saying they want your "honest opinion"...and then the fallout which sometimes ensues as a result of you giving them your HONEST OPINION. I also like to assume that people would generally rather have the naked truth told to them, rather than a pretty lie. Of course, that doesn't mean that we have to be ridiculously nasty about giving them the truth; I do think that one can be extremely truthful while at the same time delivering that truth with tact. For instance, if someone asks me what they think about something they're wearing (shallow example but it happens a lot), and I hate it, I won't say that. What I will say is, "if you'd like my honest opinion, it isn't something I would have chosen for you. I'm not a big fan of what you've got on". See, even THAT could be looked at as blunt I suppose. But it kind of all comes down to, if you don't want to know what I think, don't ask. So I agree with both you and your dad Susan.
